We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam but found the restaurant staff to be incredibly inhospitable. On the first night we came in for a night cap and one of the servers made a comment about us still being there, despite it being 45 minutes before closing. He also kept trying to make his coworkers laugh by pretending he was gouging his eyes out with a pen. It made us feel really unwelcome.

Quiet location close to Amsterdam sights

Our travel agent booked this for us. It is within walking distance of canals and the Central Square. It is about 30 minutes walk from the train station. It is clean and quiet and the breakfast buffet was good..
