Great location. Great aesthetics. Great common areas like lobby, restaurant and bar.
The room we had suffered from poor design lacking good lighting, writing surfaces, oversize furniture, etc. The room was also worn and dirty for the price we paid....

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the mercier in Amsterdam. The hotel is lovely but what really makes it special is the staff and the service. From the moment we arrived to the day we checked out the service never faltered.
Our room was comfortable and clean and the breakasts were so delicious with a such a great choice....

Location was good, Our room was small, no cuboards for clothes to hang, breakfast was ok, nothing great, very expensive to pay separately if that was only choice
No staff to serve drinks in bar in evening as there too busy in resturant
Staff were friendly to a point
would i return ? would try elesewhere first , but would at a stretch.
will say the additional tourist tax was ajoke, really expensive on top of the stay...
