I swithered between 4 and 5 rating, its better than good but not enough to be excellent
Typical Voco rebrand of an old hotel - any reviews on here that are more than a few months old ignore them as they relate to the previous hotel where as IHG have clearly done an awful lot of work during the rebrand
It looks a bit of a dump from the outside but dont worry as the inside is pretty good

The hotel and bedroom is spotlessly clean. The shower is rather peculiar, as it is in a glass enclosure to one side in the bedroom. This means there is not much privacy. Neither myself or my travel companion particularly want to be seen in the shower, and the only mirror in the room is over the sink which is right beside the shower. Lovely, peaceful rooms for a good rest. The hotel and rooms overall feel modern and well kept. Didn't find the hotel employees to be as hospitable as I would have liked and didn't particularly like the uphill walk and the tiny, not so clean streets that you have to get through to get to the hotel. This hotel boxed way above its weight class on a recent visit during a super busy window. The UEFA Europa League Finals was carte blanche for every hotel to multiple their rates by 5-15X (literally). Moderate hotels were over $1000/night and nicer ones were $3K - $5K. I have just retured from a trip to Bilbao. Its a great city to visit, with so much to do and see.
But the room I stayed in at Hotel Bed4U, has got to be the strangest I have ever encountered.
