    Bluesun Hotel Borak has secured a winning location on the island – it’s just a pebble’s throw from the Adriatic Sea and one of Brac’s most photographed beaches.

    This hotel’s postcode puts it a 10-minute walk from the iconic spit of sand known as Zlatni Rat beach – AKA the golden horn. If you walk for the same amount of time in the opposite direction, you’ll reach the picturesque harbour town of Bol.

    All that separates this place from the pretty pebbly Borak Beach is a tree-lined avenue. The turquoise water's ideal for swimming. But if you’d rather stay dry, you can enjoy the view from the hotel’s beachfront restaurant, too.

    • It takes around 160 minutes to get to the hotel. There's a coach transfer to Split harbour which takes 45 minutes. Depending on what time you arrive, you'll get a ferry to Brac Island which can take up to an hour. From there you'll get a coach transfer to your hotel which takes 45 minutes. Just so you know, there can be a wait in Split harbour to get the ferry.

    Ants in bedroom and very rude staff

    Not a pleasant stay. The hotel is very basic and dated. Our room was completely inundated with ants and we didn’t even have a kettle. The front of house staff at reception were exceptionally rude. We were spoken to in a derogatory tone after deciding to pay for our room with card instead of cash. Seemed to be a massive inconvenience for the gentleman serving us - he lost his temper and his colleague openly tutted at us. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place (unless you’re an ant enthusiast or you really want an authentic 1980s Fawlty Towers experience).

    This is a typical hotel. Nothing special, and the lower end of the 3 Blue Sun hotels in the same location. Was fine for us, and fit our budget. The location is ideal. Equal distance between, the beach, Zlanti Rat, and town. A very pleasant walkway between the two, makes the walk enjoyable and easy for even the most challenged. Breakfast was above average for a hotel buffet. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient. We did have trouble with the air conditioner when we first arrived, but they resolved this very shortly

    We stayed here for four nights, and had an OK experience. Slept well in the bed, nice balcony. Basic hotel. The food at breakfast was fine. The pool area is small but nice. Good location, between the main beach and the town. No gym and you have to pay to use sister hotel gym. My biggest problem was the smell that was in the bathroom, from pipes possibly. And the ants, all over the door and bathroom. Felt a few crawling on me at night too. Made our stay uncomfortable. I did mention to reception - he didn’t seem bothered but looks like he had someone go up and spray the room.
    Nice place but problems with mold and ants.

    We had a great stay until the last night when the bed was full of ants and mould in the bedroom. The manager didn’t take us seriously and would not give easly a discount on the price and couldn’t give us another apartment. So we left and went to another hotel. Nice food and a good buffet both breakfast and dinner. Would love for the staff to smile more and be friendly 👍 love the pool-team.

    It was an amazing experience in Hotel Bluesun Borak the Animation team was excellent. Pool and food was great. I recommend for family holidays in this beautiful ireland of Brac- Bol. You can also access Hotel Elaphusa facilities easily, i recommend a massage at least once during your stay.
