We were booked into a standard room but it was very basic and not anything like the 4 star it claimed to be. Room tiny, poorly furnished, poor carpentry, stains on tiles. Asked to be moved and was after some heated debate with person in reception. Second room a slight improvement but still not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Not value for money....

Not fancy but a good choice for tourist in Florence.

Best feature of this hotel is its location--just a few blocks from the church of San Lorenzo and the Mercato Centrale, a short walk from the cathedral, the Accademia, the Uffizi, other tourist sites and the railroad station.
The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We were there a bit before high season, so everything was not yet in gear and the situation seemed rather more relaxed.

Hotel Ginori Al Duomo has a great deal of character and charm. We received a very warm welcome from the reception staff, who went out of their way to make a fuss of our son for his birthday, which made him feel truly special. We had the best experience staying at this hotel. I booked it for 5 nights for my husbands birthday. We received such a warm welcome and extra touches thar made his birthday feel even more special.
