To begin with a positive: the Antiq Palace's location in central Ljubliana, a few blocks away from central Congress Square and within view of the riverfront, is one of most enviable in the city. Interesting hotel. It is neither a palace or a Spa, but it is in the old part of town and very convenient for sightseeing in the city.
My room was upgraded to an apartment in the eves, which was so vast as not to be very practical, and with hindsight I should have requested the Classic room I'd booked. However, I had arrived late, and the person on duty was supposed to have gone off at 11pm, and was clearly not in ...

Health Hazard and Poor Service Avoid This Hotel

I stayed at Antiq Palace Hotel and Spa in Ljubljana for two nights as part of a longer trip. Unfortunately, the experience of staying in the hotel was extremely disappointing and concerning.
Despite being advertised as a spa hotel, we were informed upon arrival that the spa has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic. This was not mentioned during booking, and the hotel continues to promote itself as a spa property....

Loads of potential but not there yet

This hotel has a ton of potential to be amazing - and perhaps there are parts of it that are already very nice. We were put in a ground-floor apartment which certainly was a lot of space. But the furniture throughout the hotel was tacky and gaudy beyond belief and the room smelled of cigarette smoke.
The breakfast was dire, with industrial packaged stuff and no service to speak of.

We stayed here 4 nights. Huge room, which had a view to the Castle, comy bed and pillows, minibar, working Wi-Fi and functional bathroom with good shower. Service was really friendly and location is really good, because small(ish) City Centre kind of starts here and river is really close.
