We spent two nights at this hotel chosen by the local travel agency. We were apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews. After the first poor encounter with the receptionist we should have changed hotel. The enamel of the tub was gone, the TP holder was broken. You had to be at least 6 feet to turn the light on above the sink. Near the kettle one tea bag, one instant coffee bag and no sugar!

The water boiler of our room broke (!). I was given the key to shower on a different floor (!) where I entered a suite who had just been vacated by the previous guests (!) so beds unmade, smell of cigarettes and towels in the bath tube (!) and rubbish bin full.
I returned to the reception to get a fresh towel to finally be able to shower in someone else's bathtub. Traumatising. I had to clean for 10 minutes before go...

To begin with a positive: the Antiq Palace's location in central Ljubliana, a few blocks away from central Congress Square and within view of the riverfront, is one of most enviable in the city. Quirky but average

Interesting hotel. It is neither a palace or a Spa, but it is in the old part of town and very convenient for sightseeing in the city.
My room was upgraded to an apartment in the eves, which was so vast as not to be very practical, and with hindsight I should have requested the Classic room I'd booked. However, I had arrived late, and the person on duty was supposed to have gone off at 11pm, and was clearly not in ...

Health Hazard and Poor Service Avoid This Hotel

I stayed at Antiq Palace Hotel and Spa in Ljubljana for two nights as part of a longer trip. Unfortunately, the experience of staying in the hotel was extremely disappointing and concerning.
Despite being advertised as a spa hotel, we were informed upon arrival that the spa has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic. This was not mentioned during booking, and the hotel continues to promote itself as a spa property....
