We were a bit nervous about staying here as twin rooms weren't guaranteed. However on arrival, we had exactly the rooms we requested, which were on 4th floor overlooking the courtyard. For a city centre hotel it was exceptionally quiet. Rooms were a bit warm and aircon wasn't too good, but it didn't bother us although it might be a problem in summer.

lovely friendly hotel. Staff very welcoming and helpful. We arrived quite late and managed to get a pizza at the hotel bar. Room was on fourth floor and we slept really well even though it is on quite a busy street. Very quiet. Taxi from and to airport no problem . Very efficient service 33 each way. Highly recommended...

The location was ideal. Many of the sightseens of Madrid were reachable on foot (max 15' walking). The breakfast was good with great variety. Two metro stations are near the hotel. The building was very beautiful! The staff was very friendly and helpful!...

The Hotel Catalonia Puerta del Sol was an ideal spot for our family during our multiple-night stay in Madrid. It was a relatively short walk from the Metro and check-in was easy. We had two rooms near each other on the same floor. While we didnt have any special needs or requests during our stay, I feel the front desk staff would have been helpful if needed. Wonderful location; beautiful hotel & rooms!

Great location, no noise from inside our room, room was nice and clean, plus we looked out over the courtyard. The lady at the front desk was very helpful on the last day with helping us secure a taxi to the train station.
