Location is great on the gran via.
Rooms are not bad but some noise come from behind the bed. Second thing is hot water is not available when we check in.

No privacy in the bathroom

The rooms are nicely designed, and the bed is very comfortable. However, the bathroom setup is a major drawback. There is no proper door, and the space is completely open. The toilet is enclosed in a glass cubicle, offering very little privacy. If you are sharing the room, this can feel quite awkward and uncomfortable. Breakfast is quite basic. This was our first experience of the Room Mate brand and we had a great stay. The group currently has 5 hotels in Madrid, we were attracted to the Macarena branch due to the glowing reviews and fabulous Gran Via location. I really enjoyed my stay here and would consider returning, though a few slight tweaks to the hotel could make it even better.
The location is on Gran VÃa, next to Callao metro. Its walkable to so many places in the centre, and about 15-20 mins to the main museums.
