Great Experience at The National

We love the National! Great hotel- location, pool area, beach location, the staff is attentive and kind. We got married here 4 years ago (amazing venue for a wedding outdoors) and returned to stay here for a few days. The National didn't disappoint. Dingy and Dark and Dated!

The National has a lot of cons but Ill start with the pros: location, outdoor pool area, no kids, a few of the staff members (Alex was helpful!)
The cons: small dingy dirty old rooms (and we had a cabana!), noisy af from the Sagamore next door (constant bass all day and night), paper thin walls, had to ask for room to be made up, conflicting check our time promises, dirty shower floors, shredded and old pool towels...

Noisy and dirty - avoid.

The hotel is old and run down. The rooms are dirty and we had to call up to have it cleaned on day 3 of our stay. The worst thing is the noise - you can hear people in the next room talk all night - I can literally hear the guy in the next room sneeze. When we complaint to the hotel about it they didnt care at all, we asked about ear plugs and was told we can buy them at cvs. Poor poor poor on every level...

An oasis on the beach

The National is an oasis, away from the noise and chaos of South Beach. The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable and the staff are warm and accommodating. The pool area is wonderful, with shady cabanas, lounge chairs and hammocks, and the beach is gorgeous. The decor is fun, a little edgy but cozy, and the food is delicious....

This was our fourth visit to The National. Over the last 15 years. Probably our last.
Booked a cabana room for 10 nights. Bill was +7k usd.
Only 4 hangers in closet. Staff did provide more on request but I had to walk to reception to ask as the phones dont work (dont connect to anyone). This was problematical as Im disabled and therefore room service was impossible unless I used my mobile to dial the mai...
