Good central Milan hotel

Good short stay at the Avani. Central, easy access to Duomo area, safe neighbourhood, great customer service, easy check in and check out and lovely clean, bright room. Good price for what you get. Note: Main restaurant is closed as they change supplier - not an issue for us as we went out for dinner....

We have been to Milan several times, and were happy to find the Avani for our most recent stay. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by the staff, and I was very impressed by the friendly and attentive way they greeted us, got us to our room (which was ready early, important after a long journey in!), and the overall "boutique" vibe of the hotel. BUT in this particular case I just can't remain quiet.

When we arrived at the hotel, the outside and the lobby looked beautiful. The staff at reception also very friendly. So far so good.
The standard room however is extremely small, the shower doesnt get beyond lukewarm and we were kept up most of the night by the sound of the lift going up and down near our room and people in the corridors.

This Italian trip for us was about enjoying refurbished buildings being brought back to life in creative ways and Avani was chosen for that. Loved the cutesy take on a restored former train station - our corner suite on first floor was room was well-designed to maximise closet space and personal comfort. Fluffy bathrobes!!!
