Off to a slow start but

When I arrived at 2:00 pm local time I asked if my room could be made available as I had several virtual meetings to attend and I did not want to take these calls in the lobby.
I was met with a dower non enthusiastic nope to my question about room availability.
I indicated that I am a Gold Elite member but that seemed to also fall flat.
I was told that check in time is 4:00 PM

Modern Hotel with a Lobby Swing!

The lobby of the Renaissance Montreal Hotel is a welcoming treat. We were there in October, and a fire (electric) was often dancing in a wall hearth which added a nice warmth to the modern decor. We were there with our grandchildren (ages 7 and 10), and there was a SWING in the lobby which they loved. East restaurant

Felix at the east restaurant in the hotel is an excellent attendant to the customers. We had experienced a 14 hour train trip from NYC and arrived almost at closing time. Felix was very helpful in our selection of menu items and adult beverages. Over our 2 day stay we ate at the restaurant 3 times. We look forward to seeing Felix on our next visit to Montreal.great restaurant and hotel accommodations....

Decent modern hotel in the business area of Montreal

The hotel is fine, and breakfast in the restaurant was good. The location is a good 30 minute walk to the old part of Montreal. No bars or coffee shops near the hotel. You need to walk up to the Eaton Square shopping centre , but check when that opens....
