Midtown but not mid experience!

I recently stayed at the Ace Hotel New York and had a fantastic experience. The building and decor was stylish and inviting at the same time. The rooms were clean and cozy and surprisingly quiet for Nomad. Its a nice part of town with plenty of nightlife. Staff were friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again....

I'd like to complain in the strongest possible terms about our treatment today at the Ace Hotel in NYC.
Having booked well in advance, my wife and I tried to check in today. We were told the only available room was one with bunk beds (!) instead of a normal bed. When we protested that we had a reservation for a standard room with a double bed, they merely laughed it off, saying that we were contractually required t...

One of the two elevators was out of service, causing repeated delays, and the air-conditioning unit was extremely loud. At check-out, a deposit was taken with the promise of a full refund, later it was not refunded at all, allegedly due to tax.
Despite being told an official invoice would be sent within one day, nothing was provided after more than a week, and the hotel ultimately refused to issue it.

We stayed three nights at Ace Hotel New York, and overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. The hotel has a moody, vintage vibe that really gives off Great Gatsby energy dark, dramatic, and very intentional.
