A New York Home Away From Home

My husband and I have been staying at the Eventi every year for approximately 10 years when we attend the US Open. While the hotel is very convenient to Penn Station, we keep returning for the hospitality we are provided. Victoria is incredibly helpful and friendly as are all of the staff. We stayed at Kimpton Eventi for six nights on a corporate trip and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations.
The hotel entrance is not very obvious or welcoming, and accessing it with luggage requires navigating two heavy doors. The surrounding area also felt unpleasant at times, and we had a bad encounter with someone on a Sunday morning.

Sure, would I rather this hotel was sitting across from Central Park? Duh. But that aside, the people in this hotel went above and beyond during our stay over last weekend (before and DURING the blizzard).
Our room (1005) was much more than adequate for NYC even though the street dept was fixing the street in front of our side of the hotel for two days (jackhammering away), but work needs to be done at some point. ...
