Incredibly loud double rooms situated next to elevator shaft

They gave us a room next to the elevator shaft. It was so loud that I recorded it and shared with front desk. They were unable to move me so we left after one night of a four night stay. Avoid this one - especially in peak season. $800 for one sleepless night....

From our 1st getting there the staff was amazing. Friendly, helpful, welcoming.
Room wasnt ready but they stored our things and got an upgraded room on the top floor ready very quickly....

Disappointing Stay Multiple Service and Maintenance Issues
I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park and unfortunately experienced several issues that significantly impacted my stay.

Great location - average hotel.

The location of the hotel is excellent - minutes from Central Park, but the hotel is let down by a lack of attention to detail.
The room (3906) was tired - the door to the bathroom was loose, the shower leaked at the bottom of the door. Several towels were needed to stop a flood. There was insufficient cutlery.
Breakfast was included, but was very poor.

Stay completely ruined by elevator issues

Stayed here for a few nights over thanksgiving weekend. Wish I hadn't!
Let's start with the positives. Good central location with a reasonable room rate. Rooms were clean and spacious with modern fixtures and fittings. All staff that I encountered were excellent. Reception staff were really good in terms of speed of service and friendliness. Breakfast was ok with a fairly good choice of foods.
