Hotel overbooked, and wouldn't refund price difference when we didn't get our requested room we paid extra for

They overbooked the hotel and gave us a cheaper, smaller room. They didn't tell us this at arrival, but as soon as we got to the room we saw it was a standard double room. We had to go back down and explain we had paid for a larger room, where they told us they had overbooked and there was nothing they could do. Perfectly located, friendly staff and complimentary bottled water in the lobby whether you are coming or going. Our room was small but clean with large bathroom and nice little balcony with a view of midtown and empire state building....

The Walker hotel at Greenwich Village is a quiet quaint old boutique hotel. I loved the cozy lobby and great service. The hotel is right in Greenwich Village and a short walk to East Village, shops and restaurants....

The Walker Hotel is in an ideal location, on a quiet street yet walkable to some of the most pleasant areas of NYC. Subway access is near as well as many great restaurants and areas to shop.
