Destination Fee Credit - Not clearly explained

Very disappointed in the lack of transparency on the application of the destination fee. The hotel mentions that a destination fee is added onto the per night stay of $35. When you dig into the details it says that it is a credit that will be applied towards food purchases. I spent ~$85 in the hotel restaurant but only $17.50 was applied as a credit. We stayed at the Westin Grand Central from 2/27 - 3/1/26. We have stayed there several times - once yearly for the past 6 or 7 years and have always had good experiences there - clean, comfortable room, accommodating staff and a great location. There has generally (probably always) been a "resort fee" or "destination fee" for the use of the gym and/or pool which we never use (too much else to do!). So in the past ...

The Westin Grand Central definitely caters to their guests. We were greeted by Jose Miguel everyday and evening. He asked us how our visits were and expressed an interest in who we were and how he could help us to have the best experience both at the hotel and in the city. He was always available to answer our questions and knowledgeable witn the answers. He would be there at the end of the day and listen yo our expe...
