This was our first time in Palermo and we are very happy with the decision to stay at the Massimo Plaza hotel. We had a car and while the hotel is located in the historic district they were very helpful lining up a spot at an excellent parking garage 2 blocks away. Hotel Massimo (Palermo) - fabulous! Well appointed room with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. Bathrobes and slippers. Daily breakfast (included in the room rate) delivered to the room when you want, and delivered on time (you order the night before). You have a choice of savory or sweet breakfast and cereals. This is the second time we have stayed here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, central and directly opposite the Opera House. Breakfast was simple but good, you had to book a table for breakfast as there are only three tables, this wasn't a problem for us but haven't come across this before....

We had the Superior double room, which provided us with plenty of space, beautiful light and authentic Italian decoration as well as a superb view on the theatre and its square. The Massimo Plaza Hotel is a very nice smaller hotel in an excellent location near many shops and restaurants. The staff is very professional and friendly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. We had a street view with a small balcony, directly across from the beautiful theater.
