The hotel was beautiful, the room was lovely with a comfortable bed, lots of TV channels, tea and coffee facilities and a really smart bathroom. All of the staff were great and super helpful. Excellent breakfast and fabulous views across the river. Highly recommended!...

Fabulous experience apart from the lack of privacy

The hospitality here is one of the best I've ever experienced, staff go above and beyond to help, food was delicious and good location
Only issue for me was that the toilet does not have a door as such just a glass panel, which may be fine if you're a couple but definitely not if you're with Friends! We managed but would have much preferred a bathroom with a door for our own privacy...

Great location with views over the Douro river. Fabulous breakfast choices. Room was quite with a very comfortable bed - slept soundly! Staff are very friendly and helpful and Miguel Costa and his colleagues could not do enough for us. Highly recommended!...

Brilliant place to stay

Wonderfully comfortable hotel. The steam room and sauna are an added bonus and Im sure the terrace and swimming pool in summer must be amazing. The staff were all lovely and helpful and the breakfast each day was the best ever!
The hotel is well placed for transport and walking everywhere. The views down to the Douro are beautiful.

We spent such a delightful stay at Torel Avantgarde. This small 5-stars hotel feels super cosy, and the staff was really attentive. From our first moment there, to the very last, they were just adorable and did everything they could so that our stay was fantastic; and it was !
