Five Star experience! It is a grand hotel with a gorgeous entrance, directly across the street from the beautiful Bastejkalna Park. The location is perfect- walkable to many different parts of town, so we saw all the sites and museums by foot. The Grand Poet Hotel has friendly staff, spacious rooms, wonderful pool, jacuzzi, sauna and workout room, but the BEST part is it's EXQUISITE buffet breakfast! All the dishes ...

+ quetness of room - great noise insulation
+ breakfast buffet was extensive (though better to avoid busy times)
+ nice staff at reception
+ high quality materials
+ Molton Brown bathroom products are great
- hot drinks at breakfast should be served
- colour and pattern choices of interior design may seem a bit exagerated...

We loved the trip to Riga, but the stay in this excellent hotel made it even more enjoyable.

We have spent four nights in the hotel and I cannot recommend it more highly.
Excellent position right on the edge of the old town, one has the feeling of the old class but with all the modern conveniences.
The breakfasts were sumptuous, the room spacious, beds comfortable and as we live in the country and are used to very quiet nights we asked for a room facing the courtyard, where we could hear seagulls only.

The Hotel was perfectly situated by a park next to the city centre and yet it was quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
A beautiful city to walk around. I recommend the Art Nouveau Museum and the whole street of extraordinary houses built in similar style.
