Hidden Service Charges Left a Sour Taste

We recently stayed here for two nights and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is lovely, the staff were friendly and professional, and the location is excellentjust a short walk from the Colosseum and many of Rome's major attractions.

First off I would like to state that I book and paid for more stay in January of 2026 for a travel date of May 2026 through Apple Vacations (which they screwed up).
It started off with off with us not having our private transportation after our arrival into Rome. I told my wife (wouldnt be strange if we didnt have hotel reservation?) as we did not once we arrived.

Amazing hotel in an excellent location. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Being close to major attractions, restaurants, and transport links made it very convenient. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others....

Everything was perfect at the Grand Hotel Palatino. Always a service with a smile and a warm welcome, the room was very clean and inviting. Location was good, within walking distance to some of the main local attractions....

A fab stay overall

Had a really lovely stay here in April. The room (one of the updated ones) was spacious enough, had a super comfortable king bed, and a modern bathroom with double sinks and separated toilet/bidet area. The water pressure wasn't great, even at 6am, but otherwise no complaints. Functional, comfortable, not too loud even though we overlooked Via Cavour, and maintained a nice temperature even in hot weather.
