This hotel is in the back streets, smell of smoke at lobby and breakfast area, had moulds in the room, and dirty throughout the room. They also placed a heated towel rack INSIDE the shower with exposed wires. Who would want to place a towel on the wet rack inside the shower? No common sense and a safety risk....

Desperately needs maintenance and customer service

I came here as a solo traveller, half way through a 14 day small group tour of the Balkans. We had previously been to around 5 other Balkans hotels, and I've travelled extensively so know what to expect.

You can't review Eastern European hotel rooms with the same eye you might use when reviewing a Western hotel. They are different. The staff here was accommodating; the General Manager was very helpful. It was clean and welcoming. It had a nice outdoor courtyard to use. The room was very tiny. Sar Otel - A pleasant stay in the centre of Tirana.

I have recently returned from a hiking trip to the Northern Albanian Alps. A wonderful experience.
On my return I spent time in Tirana, staying at the Sar Otel hotel. This hotel is in a cosy and central position close to Skanderbeg Square.
The hotel is well managed and offers a quiet ambiance despite being in the city centre. The staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel stay was, in my opinion, good value.
