AVOID THIS HOTEL.

Do not go to this hotel. There is building work going on, with scaffolding right outside the window and workers walking by at eye level. Then there is the drilling...you can hardly hear yourself think.
We were not informed of the issue at check in, and even when we asked to be moved to another room, we were told none were available.

Scaffolding outside our window!

We were really looking forward to staying in this hotel as it had been recommended by friends and it was a special birthday celebration for my wife's 60th birthday.
On being allocated our room on the fourth floor, we discovered that there was scaffolding erected across our windows and the 'city view' was completely obscured by an opaque film.
Imagine our dismay when we were awoken before 7 am by workmen on the planks...

This is the second time we stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in Vienna but this time we stayed for 6 nights. We booked the Business Double room. The hotel is conveniently located at the Neuer Markt which is a great central location with walking distance to most of our favorite places. What a fabulous hotel! Me and my sister stayed for three nights and had the best time at the Ambassador! All staff were efficient and friendly and could not do enough for us. We even received a room upgrade to a fantastic room with two balconies overlooking KarntnerStasse shopping street! Wonderful Old World stye hotel right on the Neuer Market.....VERY quiet location, but could not be more central. Breakfast was superb and included champagne and made to order omelets! Service was fast and efficient. Had drinks with friends in the bar and the bartender could not have been nicer!
