An hotel full of surprises! I start with the less good ones: Poor reception corner not giving a good impression at arrival. Dark. Maybe a room facing the outside would have helped. The room was dark and freezing at arrival. Terrible deco, tiles not fitting floor and toilet like in prison with a freezing floor . But comfy bed, pillows, duvet and shower. While the service at the reception was lukewarm, the service in the Schnitzel restaurant was cold and even outright offensive. I was there with my daughter, and the waitress cozied up to the American couple sitting next to us, trying to wheedle out a large tip, while giving us the cold shoulder or berating us. It turned what should have been a lovely evening really bitter....

This is a ideally located boutique hotel.12 minute walk from weim mitte train station. You can easily walk to all parts of the city from here. Plenty of bars , restaurants and shopping nearby.
Had a really warm welcome from the staff at the check in I explained to them this was a suprise weekend birthday treat.

Decent hotel but no room service

The hotel is centrally located, which makes it easy to get around the city. The breakfast is relatively good with enough variety to start the day well, and the rooms are clean and modern.
However, there is no room service at all not even the possibility to order food or drinks to the room. I managed to have an iron and ironing board brought up by the housekeeping staff, but that was the only exception. The room al...

Overall, a great experience at Grand Ferdinand for us. I read the reviews about the guest rooms and had concerns about limited natural light and the shower near the bed, but it worked well for us. The room was comfortable and quiet, and we slept well.
