We booked a 3-night stay at the Schani Salon. The location is very convenient and well-connected.
The room has a good size.
The biggest problem we experienced with the hotel was the poor service. The room wasn't cleaned. The cleaning staff is supposed to do it at some point during the day, but on two days, arriving both times at 3 pm, the room and bathroom were unclean.

The best thing about this "hotel" is its location. 10 minute walk from the Museum Quarters and about 20 minutes from the Opera House. It is located on a shopping street, though the brands there are not top of the line. There are lots of food choices nearby also. On the down side, the room was tiny. We stayed here for 2 nights last week and had a great time. Location wise was excellent, just a few steps from the L3 underground line which linked directly to the airport trains. The hotel was lovely and quiet, staff were lovely and helpful. Rooms were quirky and very comfortable. Breakfast, as described is very good coffee, good quality juices, croissants and fruit. We spent three nights here and had a lovely stay.
The hotel is in a great location and a great base for a short stay in Vienna.
We were warmly greeted on arrival and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms are well equipped and the beds are very comfortable.

Finding the hotel is not easy since it does not really have a hotel entrance but just a sign. Once you arrive, you need to press the bottom so that they open the door for you. Then take the elevator, which is an antique, and once you arrive, it looks like a bar. There is a coffee machine that offers free coffee and croissants. Reception is not warm but efficient.
