Cheat code unlocked – best‑value 90s‑style All Inclusive holidays

We’re throwing this cheat code back to 1996. A cheaper, simpler time – when booking just felt easy and FOBO (fear of better options) didn’t exist. You’d book a trip, head off a couple of weeks later and everything was sorted for you. Not to mention, the hotel entertainment set-ups – you never had to leave the resort! No wonder everyone’s nostalgic for the 90s right now🙏

So, this money-saving hack is all about the places that are STILL giving those cheap prices, All Inclusive vibes and proper value. We’ve listed some of the hottest holiday destinations from the 90s that are still classics today, as well as where to stay there to get that maximum All Inclusive value…

Benidorm: the OG All Inclusive classic

If British holidays had a capital in the 90s, it was Benidorm. This was the place everyone was talking about, thanks to its cheap beer, lively nightlife, sunshine you could count on, and big hotels that made holidays feel easy. Booking didn’t come with question marks – you knew exactly what kind of week you were getting. Think stacked buffets, pools for days and entertainment schedules that kept you busy all day. Fast forward to today, and that’s exactly why Benidorm still works. The All Inclusive set-ups are bigger and better, plus you get a bit of everything. Theme parks for all the family? Check. Beaut Blue Flag beaches? Check. Buzzing nightlife? Check. It’s even got a historic old town for some afternoon wandering and your local culture fix. It’s a destination that delivers proper value.

Try not to love Magic Aqua Rock Gardens… There’s a huge main pool with a swimup bar and a slidefilled second one, while kids get their own splash park. But the real star here is the cinema-style screen hanging above the main pool. Yep, you heard us – you can watch films and live sport straight from the in-water loungers. And, because that’s not enough, there’s also an adults-only rooftop terrace with Bali beds, a second bar and unreal sea views. If you can drag yourself away from the hotel, Levante Beach is just a five-minute stroll away, with Benidorm’s buzzy bars and restaurants right there, too. But honestly, with two buffets back at the hotel, a sleek spa and live music in the evenings… we can’t think of a reason to leave.

Ibiza: the 90s party island

Ibiza’s known for its lively resorts ft. headline DJs, all-night clubs and boujie beach bars. Back in the 90s, rave culture put Ibiza on the main stage, transforming it from a free-spirited, hippie retreat into one of the world’s most legendary party islands – think glow sticks, neon paint and crop tops. Today, this Balearic babe is a firm fave for a party holiday – but with short flights and an unreal coastline, it’s also super popular for a family-friendly break. Think chilled resorts, stunning sweeps and old-town exploring. And, if you want to do Ibiza on a budget, All Inclusive is the way to go. All your food and drink at the hotel are included, as well as some activities. So, you’ll only need spending money for anything extra – whether that’s sightseeing around the island by day or hardcore clubbing by night.

If you thought All Inclusive activities were just aqua aerobics and bingo… spoiler – you’re wrong. Holiday Village Seaview Ibiza has three beaut pools – including an infinity number with gorg sea views – and four restaurants and three bars that are all yours. But, the real reason to pick this hotel is its MEGA activity line-up. We’re talking a huge waterpark, an epic high-ropes adventure park and, for a bit of friendly competition, get involved in volleyball, football, table tennis and water polo. Or, if you prefer something more chilled, there’s cheese and wine tasting, plus cocktail-making classes, too. Got little ones? There are kids’ clubs for all ages where they can have fun with things like arts and crafts, stargazing and obstacle courses, while you relax in the spa. You’re welcome.

The Algarve: the easy all-rounder

The Algarve is the whole package – golden beaches, walkable towns and world-renowned golf courses that works for couples, families and mates’ trips. It’s the kind of place where days naturally fall into the routine of breakfast, pool, beach, repeat – and with All Inclusive, your dinner and drinks are already included. The 90s gave the Algarve the glow-up it deserved, opening several golf courses and beautiful marinas, which made it a popular pick for summer breaks. It was a time of simple pleasures – exploring in rented cars, having family meals by the sea and relaxing on relatively quiet beaches. Today, the Algarve offers pretty much the same, with people going back year after year.

In terms of where to stay, meet Robinson Quinta Da Ria… This peaceful resort is a win for outdoorsy types, set by a scenic nature reserve with stunning views of the Atlantic. Tee up at one of the two golf courses, check out the guided cycling tours or take in the gorgeous scenes from the lagoon. The WellFit gym offers a mix of high-intensity workouts and more gentle sessions, including yoga and pilates. Or, slow things down at the spa with massages, facials and body wraps. On top of all the activities, there’s a huge pool, two bars and two restaurants to keep the All Inclusive food and drink flowing, plus weekly themed nights and evening music and dance shows.

Majorca: a timeless summer classic

Majorca was a 90s summer staple for a reason – it made holidays feel so effortless. The island had a resort for every kind of trip – from busy beaches to quieter corners with coves and pinebacked bays. And, that’s exactly why Majorca still earns its spot as a top summer break in Europe today. With loads of All Inclusive hotels lining the coast and a mix of resort styles, it delivers great value without locking you into one type of trip. Spend your days lounging by the pool or beach, or if you fancy mixing it up, you’ve got Palma for city sightseeing, boat trips along the coast and plenty of local beach bars for a change of scenery.

Days at Globales Bouganvilla are never boring, with an onsite waterpark and a huge activity line-up. Embrace your big kid energy on the twisty flumes, free-fall slides and multi-lane racers, or pick one of the two pools for somewhere calmer to cool off. Add in poolside competitions, a tennis court and even a free mini train to take you down to the sand and shops in Sa Coma. You won’t have to go far for great food and drink either – think buffets, themed restaurants and a couple of bars to dip into throughout the day. And when the sun sets, the entertainment steps up with West End-style shows, tribute acts and magic shows.

Tunisia: where the hotel IS the holiday

Fancy that proper 90s holiday feel? Say hello to Tunisia. Think big beachfront resorts, huge pools, daily activities and the best All Inclusive set-ups. With hot summers and warm winters offering great year-round value – it’s the ideal pick for completely switching off. In the 90s, Tunisia was the kind of place you booked straight out of the brochure – no questions asked. And that mindset hasn’t really changed. Today, Tunisian resorts are still built around the idea that the hotel is the holiday – you pick somewhere that has everything you need in one place, and in one easy package. You barely need to plan a thing – just check in, grab a drink and see where the week takes you.

Why pick between the pool and beach, when Marhaba Royal Salem gives you both? This place has its own private stretch of sand, plus five pools dotted around the grounds, so you’re never short on swim spots. The main pool sits on a palmlined terrace with sunloungers and a bar, while kids get their own pool and waterslides. There’s also an indoor pool if you feel like a break from the sunshine. Food-wise, it’s a buffet situation for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a seafood and Tunisian restaurant when you fancy switching things up. And, sporty types have loads to stay active – we’re talking table tennis, basketball, tennis and minigolf, plus watersports down on the beach.
