Important to note that currently the hotel is undergoing renovation works so there is often construction workers and it is in essence a construction site. This meant some mornings there was construction noises happening. The renovation itself is an improvement- slightly more modern and in keeping with the times.

Thank you for such a friendly and welcoming stay at the City Hotel Pilvax. Perfectly located in Budapest City centre. The staff on reception were excellent and very helpful.
Lovely breakfast. The hotel breakfast room is being upgraded as we speak. They provide a pack up breakfast which was perfect for us. Coffees and Teas available.

Fantastic budget hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in room 111 on the first floor. Rooms were clean with very comfy memory foam mattresses. Excellent, comprehensive buffet breakfast. Ideal location for all the sights with a superb integrated transport system nearby. 10 out of 10...

Minute walk to the Danube, near tram and bus stations. Its close to restaurants, and there is plenty of them. The hotel itself is very old. Our room was on the first floor room 112, room was modern, the only downside to the room was there was a long thin window with not curtains up at it! We stayed at this hotel for 4 night, we stayed in room 212. Desperate need for renovation. The bathroom needed a good clean. The shower plug hole was blocked with hairs , making the water go down the plug hole very slow, so you could only stay in the shower a short time or it would overflow. The base of the shower screen was very dirty. Carpets going upstairs were badly stained. Breakfast was fine, and staff friend...
