Great place, perfect location for pretty much everything. Breakfast - plenty of choice and open till late. Friendly staff with nothing too much trouble.

Perfect base in Cologne old town, especially to visit the Christmas markets.

We have just returned from a three night break in Cologne to visit the Christmas markets, staying at the City Class Alter Markt hotel. Cannot fault the hotel at all. Its location in the old town is perfect for visiting the markets , with one only yards from the hotel and others within easy walking distance. The room is spacious, clean and the location is very convenient.
The staff are so warm, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good....

Centrally located hotel within close walking distance to the cathedral, main train station and shops.
Clean basic room with power outlets next to beds (no usb ports). Bit of a sewerage smell in the bathroom though....

Really great location right on alter markt area and just behind the cathedral. A short walk from Hauptbahnhof as well. Quiet and clean. The front desk staff are outstanding. Personable, friendly and extremely helpful. The cafe/bar staff are not at all the same -- the two we met seemed like they really didn't want to be there at all.
