In one word, wow! Clean and beautiful hotel, large room, wonderful breakfast! Check-in was a bit delayed, so we were treated to a hot drink and sparkling wine and cookies waiting for us at the entrance to the room. Just enjoyed a great stay at this amazing hotel. Just cant believe some of the negative comments that people have written. Very impressive building and it surely must have the best location of all city hotels in Sofia. The staff were all delightful and very helpful. They made us feel very welcome and were attentive to our requested. Our room was lovely and the Clarins toiletries were a treat. Somebody has commented...

Sofia Balkan Palace is very well located in the heart of the city. From the hotel you can walk to many of Sofias main sights, restaurants and cafés. The building itself is impressive, as it adjoins the Presidential Palace and includes high-end boutiques on the lower floors. The rooms are spacious and modern, which initially creates a positive impression.

We got a renovated room on floor 3. That looks out over the central court yard of the Presidency and the Roman round church.
I use a wheelchair. Good access ramp. Nice lifts. Huge room with accessibility all around the king size bed, shower room has sufficient grab rails and tip down seat.
When upgrades were done fancy black shiny glass touch panels were introduced for lights, curtains, Aircon. You need a computer ...

Beware.. regarding the rooms facing the old church.. the windows are not at all soundproof.... So very noisy at daytime.
Could be better to take a room on the back, facing georges rotonde
Breakfast buffet just so so.. nothing great.. coffee is not good...
