Absolutely terrible experience.
When I arrived, my room had a very strong smell of cannabis, mixed with an overwhelming chemical odor that seemed to be an attempt to cover it up. The room itself was in poor condition: damaged flooring in several areas, dirty walls with black marks, and a general lack of cleanliness and maintenance. For the price charged, it was completely unacceptable.

Didnt realise how huge this hotel is.
Staff very helpful and welcoming
Very clean
Good breakfast
Good facilities
No 19 bus takes you to town or coast
Taxis outside
Near City Art & Science museum and park
However:
Pool was closed - this should have been advised at booking
Many Large groups of tourists so can get loud
Location is 30 min walk from town and equally to coast
A few restaurants nearby...

You can hear every footstep and word spoken from upstairs and outside the door. There were tonnes of stag dos so it was pretty hard to sleep. Funny sewage smell a few times a day from inside the building not outside. Very dated fixtures. The bath was not waterproofed at all so every shower there was masses of water on the floor. The food was really good though and the location is ok, in hindsight would have preferred...
