Very nice hotel with a great location

We had an excellent albeit short stay at the Melia. We did have an upgraded room with a view of the Plaza as noted in several reviews, wonderful . The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the silk building and the Market, which is very fun. The front desk staff was all bilingual and very professional....

The hotel is very beautiful. A renaissance style updated. Definitely get a room over looking the square. It was very quiet and beautiful. The room was spotless, well equipped and beautiful. The bed, lines and pillows were wonderful. The wifi is not very good. There is no concierge service. The front desk staff treat you like you are wasting their time. Great access to public transport and taxis. Lovely clean well decorated 11th floor room with large terrace. Mini bar reasonably priced and Rituals toiletries provided. Great shower. Limited tea and coffee making facilities. Linen fine but Towels not 4 star. Reception staff and Foyer bar very helpful. Foyer Decor tired. House wines and wines in room were cheap and nasty. The hotel was in the plaza which was great, the room was very nicely done with new renovations and we chose one with a plaza view. Unfortunately it was very noisy, not from the outside noise but inside noise. If we turned on the AC there was a continual running water sound gurgling in the walls. There is a lot to like about this place, and one let-down.
It is in a great position, close to all the major sites, the station and the best shopping.
Our room was spacious, well appointed and the housekeeping is immaculate. The staff are helpful.
