Best time to go to Arossim Beach

Temperatures in South Goa range from hot to pretty hot. And there’s not much seasonal difference – the mercury hovers around 25°C to 30°C year-round. October to February is South Goa at its sunniest – that’s when to make the most of its winter break potential. Monsoon season hits between June and the end of September. Sure, it’ll stay warm – but it’ll also rain a fair bit.

Passports and Visas

You must buy a visa before travelling to India. If you’re an eligible UK passport holder, you can apply for an e-Tourist Visa between 120 and four days before your departure date on the official Indian government e-Visa website. We recommend applying as early as possible.

You must present a printed or digital copy of your e‑Tourist Visa at check‑in for your departure flight and upon arrival in India. The confirmation email alone is not valid for travel. Your confirmation email will explain how to download your official visa status document, which must be presented at check‑in.

If you're not eligible to apply for an e-Tourist Visa, you'll need to apply for a 'regular paper' visa online and make an appointment to visit an 'Indian Mission/office' in the UK as part of the application process. These offices are in Birmingham, Edinburgh and London.

You can also apply through our visa and travel authorisation partner – Sherpa.

Before travelling to India, you must complete an Online Arrival Card within 72 hours of your arrival. You’ll need to present this completed card to immigration officials when you arrive in India.

Don't forget to arrange your travel money and insurance before you go.

Health and safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s a good idea to visit your doctor a month or so before you travel for advice on vaccinations. For the latest health and safety information, visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/india/health
