Move over, Majorca and Ibiza… it’s Menorca’s time to shine! This Balearic babe flies under the radar compared to its bigger and buzzier sister islands, but I’m here to convince you that Menorca has so much to offer.
Here are my top tips for spending four days on this stunning Spanish island…
Where to stay
I’d highly recommend staying at Melia Cala Galdana – the views from this hotel are incredible! You’re right on a beautiful beach, near some of the best calas (coves) on the island and in the middle of Mahon and Ciutadella de Menorca, so you can easily explore both. The hotel has its own beach club-style restaurant – Cape Nao – and an infinity pool overlooking the bay exclusively for Level guests. It’s totally worth upgrading to the premium package – you also get free drinks and snacks!
We had a long weekend here, but I’d say a week is the perfect amount of time to relax and explore as there’s so much to do. The island is small enough to easily get around, though, so we didn’t waste loads of our trip travelling from one place to another. We hired a car, which was perfect for exploring at our own pace.

Things to do
We spent a lot of time chilling at our gorg hotel, but we were also keen to get out and about. One morning, we visited Ciutadella de Menorca and strolled through its cobbled streets lined with shops, as well as the beautiful markets. A short drive from here is Cala en Brut, one of the most stunning swim spots on the island. There’s no beach here, so just lay your towel on the rock and jump into the water – Menorca has some of the clearest I’ve ever seen.
A great activity for ticking off a few coves at a time is hiking the Cami des Cavalls. It’s a coastal path that runs all the way round the island. I recommend starting at Cala Galdana and stopping for lunch at Cala Macarella, before continuing to Cala Macareletta – the prettiest beach imo! We chilled here for a swim, then walked to Cala Turqueta, where we finished the hike. This route was about 10km, but you could easily add or cut out bits if you wanted to. There are plenty of spots to grab a bite along the way, or you could always bring your own picnic and eat on the beach to save money.
Foodie finds
There are so many amazing places to eat here. In Ciutadella de Menorca, grab a pastry from Can Padet, get brunch at Nibs Healthy Bar, and pick Faustino Gran Relais and Chateaux for fancy cocktails opposite the port.
There are some lovely farm-to-table spots in Menorca, like the one at Amagatay. My fave meal of the entire trip was at Coral – the sunset views from the terrace was something else. I also have to mention Nonna Bazaar, which does yum Mediterranean dishes in a stunning outdoor setting.
If you’re looking for somewhere special for drinks and a dance, you HAVE to go to Cova d’en Xoroi – a bar built into the rocks! I’ve seen it all over my socials for years and I can confirm it’s totally worth the hype. Make sure you buy tickets in advance and come for sunset – golden hour here hits different. They have live DJs during the summer and on weekends.
