Outstanding entertainment for kids
We really enjoyed our 7 days at this resort, the entertainment was exceptional- never once seemed unfriendly and made everyone feel very welcomed. Rooms were very large and well maintained. Food was okay, but the ala carte Oh My Burger was an absolute disgrace, worst meal we've had in a long time,(steaks ) however the Italian was excellent, felt like home cooked food and made up for the other restaurant. Top tip for making future visits better, enforce swim nappies for younger kids as we had 5 brown flags that closed the pool. Gym needs updating, pool toilets need inspecting more regularly. But all in all we would definitely recommend this hotel to our Friends and family. Well done to all the staff.More
Lovely hotel.. relaxing holiday!
The Good Points: Large, clean rooms with big, comfy beds. Friendly and welcoming staff, made the experience enjoyable. The staff went above and beyond for us as we are returning customers and we came back to our room to find a letter thanking us for our loyalty and a bottle of white wine. We also had an unwelcome visitor in the form of a cockroach and we phoned reception to get rid of it. They did so right away with no issue, we returned to the room being immaculate and smelling beautiful. Decent range of food on offer. Large range of drinks to choose from. The staff speak good English and the hotel caters for British and English speaking guests which seem to be the majority of guests. The hotel caters for all ages and was a very relaxing holiday. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would like to return again in the future. The Bad Points: Being a holiday village, and the high standards that seem to be in place at this hotel, we were disappointed by the fact that the sun beds don't have rising backs. Because we stayed at this hotel before we were aware of this and packed extra towels to make pillows for the sun beds. People should have the option to raise the back of their sun beds and because of this we found there were a lot of people using the chairs from the evening entertainment/bar area around the pool. One morning, we came to the pool area to find a member of staff removing people's towels from the sun beds and jet-washing then, after he was finished he dumped the towels on the wet beds. This was done at around 8:30am when people begin to come and start their day. This should of been done in the evening whilst they are not in use. Our towels were damp and smelly and we couldn't use our beds until they had dried. The poolside toilet floors were disgusting, they were black. I understand that the amount of people going in and out and the wetness from people's flip flops from the pool etc can cause the floor to build-up in dirt however, I witnessed toilet paper on the floor every time and it was black because of how dirty the floors were. I think more regular cleaning intervals need to be taken in the poolside toilets to maintain hygiene and the hotel's high standards everywhere else. The evening entertainment was poor, very poor. The effort was there but it was poor. Being a holiday village and a place where people pay extra to go, you would expect decent entertainment but this wasn't the case. The next point is the amount of tables and chairs in the entertainment/outdoor bar area, this was lacking! We had to get outside really early to ensure we got a table and once we had one we had to stay there all night. This could be improved to accommodate the amount of guests at the hotel, especially in peak season. This brings me on to the outdoor bar. Because we sat on the tables by the bar we observed that the bar closed as early as 10:15pm one night and at one point my boyfriend was rushed out and spoken to harshly. The bar states it is open until 11pm and therefore this should be honoured. One of the female members of staff in particular was very rude every night. This was disappointing for us as everyone else was very friendly. One other negative point for me was during dinner one evening when I had a portion of chicken fajitas which should of been all boneless chicken breast however I bit into it and bit into a bone. Better care needs to be taken in food preparation as a child could of swallowed that bone and choked. More
Spend you Money Else Where - Horiffic food quality
We have stayed at a holiday villages previously so understand the high quality standard that are expected regarding their entertainment, facilities and Food and Drink. However this HV we are extremely dissatisfied. When booking a holiday village stay you are offered a special night in one of their al a carte restaurants for each week you stay there. We chose to use these nights towards the end of our holiday when we may have been tired of eating at the buffet style catering. The Italian Restaurant. Started off excellent. The menu offered a variety of choice, a waited was soon over to take our order and childrens meals arrived shortly after and were to a good standard. However, after a further 45 minutes, my wife and I, still had not received our meals, so I enquired where they were as we were missing the childrens entertainment which they enjoyed. About 20 minutes later I received what can only be described as a completely incinerated and totally inedible calzone pizza (I have attached a photo). I showed the waiter and explained that it was not editable, he did not give me a response and simply cleared the table. I do not believe there was a language barrier as all staff had a good understanding of the English. Due to the length of time spent in the restaurant we had unfortunately missed all of the childrens entertainment that evening. The American Diner. When we arrived at the Diner, they had no notification of our reservation and so they explained that they could not seat us. We had to return to our room to get the confirmation that had been provided by reception at check in, which was about a 20 minute round trip as our room was the opposite end of the hotel. We had not taken the confirmation as we had not needed it for the Italian Restaurant. We were handed the menus and told the children just helped themselves from the buffet. (The same buffet which is available for them at lunch times in the same venue). When we looked at the menu there was no vegetarian option listed, so when the waiter came to take our order we asked what the vegetarian option was and we were informed that it was an American Diner and Americans do not eat vegetarian food, my wife was advised to help herself to the children's buffet. Unhappy with this I spoke to the waiter behind the bar near the kitchen area who said that a vegetarian burger could be arranged. The food generally was extremely poor and repetitive. Children's lunch, snacks and tea consisted of chicken nuggets, hot dogs, burgers and chips every single day, every meal. Customer Service First Impressions When we arrived we were allocated our rooms and went to unpack. We immediately realised that it was 2pm and the balcony was already in shade. I went to reception to request a move, to a room which has the sun on an evening. I appreciate that the hotel could be full and that may not have been an option. This is exactly what I was informed. I enquired about any availability the following day and was informed sadly there was not. At the same time another guest came to reception also requested to move rooms, she was fifth floor facing the pool and suffers from vertigo and could not look over the balcony without going dizzy. A different receptionist immediately offered an alternate room. So I queried why I had not been offered that room when I came to reception before her. I was informed that she has paid more money than you. I asked if I could move into her now vacant room. I could not as I had not paid the extra supplement to have a pool view. At no time was I offered this facility. I requested to pay the supplement but was informed I could not as her room would be offered to someone who had already paid it. The entertainments team worked tirelessly, the children loved the shows, they are a credit to First Choice. The facilities were good and were always clean. However, for an all-inclusive hotel I would not have expected to pay 6 euros a day for a rubber ring to use the slides. Overall extremely disappointed with the holiday saying the cost of it. I do like the idea of the holiday Village and the entertainment they offer. However would definitely not recommend this hotel to friends or family. Our concerns were shared with First Choice who failed to respond following an initial automated email response.More
Great family holiday
Don't worry about all the negative reviews. This is a great family holiday. Rooms: Clean and spacious. Towels changed every day and room cleaned and bins emptied. No issues. Staff: Very friendly in all areas Entertainment: Excellent for children. Daytime and night time. Reps very good and always smiling. Kids clubs were really good and kids loved them. So many different choices each day. All the reps work extremely hard and their effort pays off. Steph, stevie and Josh are stand out. Food: Italian is a little on the slow side but food is great. I'd skip dessert as exactly like the main buffet. American diner is good also. Limited choices but you will easily pick something. Main buffet was very good. Always something to choose from. Queues were a little long at times but tonne expected. I did hear people complain but if you're going all inclusive you are not going to get 5 star table service so go somewhere else if this is want you want. Pools: Great pool and splash park is good. Water over there is very cold but main pool at hotel was warm with the sun. Bars: Very good. Need more staff in outdoor bar and cocktail menu needs to be increased to include more options. If not at least reduce price of ones not included. €6.50 for a majoto was a little steep when it took 2 mins to make and used local spirits. Pros: Great pools, great entertainment and lovely hotel Cons: Understaffed bar, items expensive which were not included so as cars, trampolines and cocktails. All in all a super holiday and I would return.More
Great for Children
1st time in a holiday village and I can see why it's a bit extra. It has everything children could possibly want. My nephew is 5 and he said he didn't want to go home. He is entertained all day. The kids club is brilliant and he particularly enjoyed the evening disco. The room is great, cool, clean and large. Also we overlooked the pool which was nice. The food is fine for children but I found very disappointing for adults. The quality is not good. I had to go to a restaurant a few times as just couldn't bear the buffet again. The Italian was so bad we didn't bother with our reservations at the American restaurant. The first choice staff are fantastic they work so hard!! The reception staff and cleaners are great. The restaurant and bar staff were sometimes a little moody. The drinks are not all included which is disappointing and cheap brands I would have expected premium brands. Also the bar definitely needs more staff the queue in the evening is ridiculous. So to sum up you come here for the children and it has absolutely everything they could want. I wouldn't be here at this hotel without a child and I can put up with the negatives to see my nephew having such a wonderful time. More
