Family holiday for 9 people, Summer 2016
This was booked as an all inclusive for 6 adults, two children and one baby. It was brilliant. The swimming and play zone across the bridge was ideal for two young children and a baby. The activities and entertainment was extremely child friendly and really focused on inclusion and fun. The hotel facilities where at a good standard, room was great for myself, my wife and my baby daughter. The food was always at a good standard for an all inclusive, have been to others that offer much worse! Would happily return.More
This is our third visit to the holiday village and again we really enjoyed it.The food was good.pools lovely and staff very friendly. The only one problem was there are a few cats around at night eating leftovers that had not been cleaned up under tables outside restaurants. This could prevent us returning if there is going to be a problem with cats.More
September 2016 1 week stay
We stayed at this hotel 1st week in September, 2 adults and a child of 3yrs, All Inclusive. Upon arrival once we had our room key, got to our room on the 2nd floor and discovered the rooms are like small apartments, including a small kitchen. We had a late flight arriving and found that the hotel had left us 3 plates of sandwiches in the room which was a nice touch. Everything in the room was clean and the balconies are like double sized. Breakfast in the morning is a good selection of everything, if you go around 0800hrs the place is quite empty, go about 0900hrs and you will be queing out of the doors. The hotel has a large pool directly outside or a large waterpark you can access by going over a bridge which opens about 1000hrs. The waterpark was definitely better and provided both drinks and food which was excellent. The water in the pools seemed very clean but yet very cold even on a very hot day. The evening meals can be eaten in the main buffet restaurant which is in the basement or two A la Carte restaurants. Nobody seems to dress up for evening meals so just take shorts unless you are eating out. At night there`s kids entertainment which they all loved at the outside stage area. There`s plenty of kids clubs to keep them busy which ours enjoyed and a small amusements on site. A taxi into Benalmadena costs about 10 euro`s where there`s a harbour with restaurants and shops, sea life centre and best of all was a free park just at the back of the roundabout with the windmills on. The weather was great for the 7 days we were there and would definitely consider going again.More
It's ok..not my fav holiday village
We visited in October during Scottish school holidays ARRIVAL After a smooth transfer we arrived to be checked in with a bus load of guests....it takes a bit of time as you would expect but the receptionists were efficient. ROOM We paid extra for a room with pool and sea view but to be honest the other three rooms our party had were just as good and given that we spent no time whatsoever on the balcony it was not worth the extra. The rooms have one bedroom for adults and our boys 18 and 13 in a quite small living room on a sofa bed and camp bed squashed next to each other. The bathroom is large with separate shower and bath, ideal. A small kitchen with fridge is self contained but we didn't find any use for it. FOOD The food was good and plentiful with varied choice but not as good as HV Cyprus or HV Portugal and on a par with HV Ibiza. We enjoyed visiting the Italian restaurant which is included for one visit as part of your AI. Again the restaurant probably wasn't as good as the steak grill and Italian at HV Ibiza or the Greek restaurant at HV Cyprus but it was still good. FACILITIES This is where the complex fell short for our group. We love a game of football day in day out, an hour here and there throughout the day as and when it suits us but here you have a good ten minute walk to a pitch that you can only access if you book in advance. This is an inconvenience and even for a keen lot like us became more hassle that it was worth. The gym is run down and dilapidated. The pool tables are unreliable and tend to swallow your euros, the guys in charge are not keen to provide refunds. One outside table tennis table is insufficient for a complex this size. The pools are good for all ages. The tennis, volleyball etc again is a ten minute jaunt away and not really worth it again it must be booked in advance. The indoor pool is ideal if it rains but isn't really conducive to swimming. Special mention to Stuart from the football academy who , as usual, got things going down at football. A good guy who enjoys his work. BARS AND ENTERTAINMENT The downstairs Irish bar was nice and quiet, showed the football and had good pool tables. The evening show with reps was very much the same as all HV hotels and was performed with great commitment by all the reps involved. The older members of our group preferred the main bar with live music earlier in the night. To be fair there is something for everyone at night and this was abreast plus point for a group of 13 like ours. 10,13,17,18,20,20,20,37,38,66,67,69,71 years old. A 15 euro taxi will take you to the square in Benalmedena where anything goes....10 euros will take you to Fuengirola which has a good buzz about it but not as young as the square. SUMMARY This a huge complex possibly too spread out and definitely not as good as HV Cyprus or HV Ibiza...or the smaller more compact HV Algarve. We got a really good deal at £340 per person for a week and definitely got value for money but it is in no way worth the money they look for in the summer months.More
