At Sun Palace, everyone was amazing. I would especially like to thank Ambimael for all the laughs and impeccable service he gave us everyday by the pool. Jaime was also great to be around and provided great entertainment. Ivan was so personable and added to our fun! Gladys was so accommodating -- providing us everything we desired and more each and every day and night! Miguel really did help us plan fun activities that we will always remember! And Martin, the front desk manager, assisted us whenever we found a hiccup. Thank you to the entire Sun Palace staff for making our honeymoon an amazing one! We will definitely be back! More
My new husband and I had to take a quick honeymoon because of our busy work schedules and sun palace was the perfect place. We had an amazing, relaxing time during our short stay. The resort is the most romantic place we have ever been. From romantic dinners, to spa treatments and even just laying on the serene beach, we had an incredible time and can't wait to come back! More

Sun Palace Stars Shine Bright
It had been awhile since we visited Sun Palace during April. So, we booked two weeks to enjoy or favorite Palace resort and see the people who have become our second family. Our stay was fantastic from arrival to departure and every day was mostly filled with sunshine by Mother Nature and always by the amazing Sun Place staff. Drivers Genaro (who braved an arrival downpour) and Victor provided excellent service and good conversation. Check-in and our reunion with the amazing Diamond Concierge Claudia Islas was smooth and quick. Our beautiful room was prepared impeccably. On a few nights, rain forced the two outdoors restaurants (Thai and Steak) indoors to the Alamo. The precision efficiency and professionalism by which the three restaurants’ patrons, chefs, menus and wait staffs are combined is really impressive. We had no plans to do anything special and were able to relax in the sun, swim and take walks on the best beach in Cancun. Thanks to Pool Concierge Celic Martinez and the staff, we enjoyed many lazy days in the sun. We thoroughly enjoyed our evenings on our balcony and at the Bar followed by soothing nightly bubble baths in our jacuzzi prepared by the amazing Maxi. Spa and Salon services by Manager Raphael and his staff provided more relaxation and pampering. What Sun Palace lacks in ambiance and facilities, it more than compensates with superior therapists. The massage chairs in the Salon are to die for during mani-pedis. The Fish Spa is a service which not only the guest can enjoy, but passers-by can watch and wonder about. We always do the Fish Spa because it is fun, but also very healthy. Try it. You will like it. We learned that the menus at the four restaurants will be changing. First to do so is the Mexican (Alamo). Chef Eduardo prepared a few of the new dishes for us one evening. The octopus salad was absolutely succulent! We were honored to have Chef Eduardo prepare a special Diamond Dinner for us which included some of his favorite dishes capped off with a decadent chocolate dessert and conversation with him about his passion for cooking. Waiter Jose provided five-star service. With Sommelier Olsen, we never had to pour our own wine. On our last night, Chef again prepared his favorites, including an exquisite salad that looked like a miniature garden. We spent time identifying the flowers and veggies cut to look like flowers before we enjoyed every morsel. Five-star service by Antonio and a surprise visit from Beverage Manager Mario Dewitt, and former staff and “family” members Pamela Luna (now at Le Blanc) and Karla Pflug (now at Beach Palace) completed a wonderful night. As always, Chef’s dinner by General Manager Pablo Winkler and Executive Chef Edgar Poot was delicious, informative and entertaining. We never get tired hearing about the origin of Mexican cuisine and the duo’s humorous repartee. We will never forget the special morning of “stars” we received on our last day. So, those are some highlights. As always In addition to Pablo Winkler, the very best General Manager Palace Elite could ask for, and Claudia Islas, the superior Diamond Concierge whose professionalism and attention to detail is key to the consistent five-star experiences we enjoy at Sun Palace, the following “stars” deserve special mention: Martin Cano, Front Desk Manager, who always goes above and beyond for all guests; his staff, especially Guillermo, Erik and his night-shift cohorts; Santos and Samuel, Bellmen extraordinaire; Consuelo and Salma of Public Relations who with the same can-do attitude are filling the shoes of their predecessors Karla and Pamela very well. Mario DeWitt, a force of nature with endless energy. Restaurant Managers Omar Moreno, Efrain, Martha, Patricia, Jose, Jorge and Gustavo; all of their hostesses and wait staffs (especially Beatriz, Mariana, Ingrid, Mauricio, Leslie, Mario, Saydi, Carlos Marvin, Aurelia, Javier, Ana, and Juisse.. Chefs Eduardo (Alamo - Thank you for everything), Antonio, (Trotto) for amazing meals; the chefs at Steak and Thai (Filiberto) for amazing shrimp tempura and our special dessert; Chef Maria at the pool for my special guacamole; Chefs Alberto (perfect waffles, omelets and churros), Alfredo and Miguel for helping us with our Spanish; Breakfast servers Dalia, Enrique Rolando, Jesus, and Damian who also provide smiles and Spanish lessons; Marisole (Room Service Manager and her wonderful staff Teodoro, Rodolfo, Victoria, Gumaro and Blanca for their excellence. All of the bartenders. They always know what we want before we ask; Executive Chef Edgar Poot, Pablo Winkler and Sommelier Olsen for yet another stunning dining experience and entertainment at Chef’s Dinner. Celic Martinez and concierge in training Nataly; Pool/beach attendants Leslie, Angel, Alejandra, Jose-Daniel Elueterio; who always remember our preferences and open our water bottles; Karina and Efega at the Snack Bar for their smiles and hugs; Ilyana, Public Areas for all she does; Everyone in Concierge Housekeeping, especially Supervisor Neryeda, the amazing Maxi, Blanca, Ana, Rhobban, and those unseen artists who prepare bubble baths and creative room decorations; Monica and Primavera for the best massages and facials, and Gerta, Monica, Araceli, and Flora for mani-pedis and haircuts that last. Thank you also to Nataly and Spa Manager Raphael Perez. Where he is limited by less than ideal facilities, he excels in staff and service – the best of all the Palace resorts. Finally, Thank you to everyone who provided our beautiful “Starry” morning. I am sure I have missed other special people, but will be sure to thank them in person when we return in to Sun Palace, our home away from home, where five-star consistent service and food is the norm, not the exception.More

Honest review young English couple
As we all do I checked the reviews for this hotel in detail and it worries me how many people Commented on feeling pressured into timeshares. Not once this entire holiday have I felt pressured into buying anything in the hotel. I had to go myself and ask for information about the resort credits. I either look skint or the previous reviews were exaggerating the pressure. Have the confidence to say no and you will be ok. Another worry I had was tips, I have no idea what to tip so I just got a lot of 20 peso notes (around £/$1 each) and tipped 40-60 pesos for room service same again every 2 days for the maid same for waiters in the restaurants and on and off with the bar staff. Still receive the same service from the waiters. The entertainment throughout the day was brilliant especially chocolatè.. He made it funny, included everyone, made you feel welcome and all the entertainment staff went out their way to give you a fun day by the pool. The food is standard, what you would expect from an all inclusive holiday, nothing blows your mind but nothing to complain about. Rooms are gorgeous, views are amazing. One tip-do not leave your balcony door open or the floor turns into a swimming pool, almost fell on a few occasions, room is serviced daily and to a perfect standard everytime. No need to bring iron, hairdryer or straighteners as all provided... Something I wish we knew previous. NEGATIVES- entertainment on a night is more for the older generation. Not much night entertainment for teens/young adults. We stayed in our rooms a couple Of nights as there was nothing for us to do unless we travelled down to the party zone on cancun (180 pesos) £8... 300 to come back. Rip off but got to get back. Although the activities are good in the day it is repetitive. The same time every day for the same activities. Could be mixed up a little. Every morning 4 surf boards come out and 4 women do yoga on them, everyone else has to sit and watch. All in all had a good time, very peaceful and relaxing, well taken care of and looked after. Will return one day but when I'm older. Last note- perfect for honeymooners.More
