Excellent Food, Great staff - not that tranquil
We stayed for a week in early September . The food is excellent and the staff really great. The Pools are very nice and very well maintained. The pool areas are unfortunately quite noisy - there is an excellent gym and spa under the building and there are frequently 'high intensity' classes with the attendant hi energy music and gym instructors shouting encouragements. The lifeguards also tended to clean the sunbeds with a pressure washer! All that said we had a good week and would probably return.More

Best first holiday ever!
Myself and my boyfriend came to the Marylanza for our first holiday together and what a holiday it was! We got to the hotel quite late at night and when we checked in, the receptionist had made us a little packed lunch as we missed dinner which was very welcoming and very kind! When we got to our room we were made up with the size! We were upgraded for free to have a pool room view and the view was fantastic! In the room there was a bottle of water in the fridge cooling. We didn't drink this as we weren't sure whether you had to pay but there was plenty of time for the all inclusive drinks anyway so it wasn't needed! If you did need to have get a drink though and you have nothing in your fridge, there is a 24hour shop just a 5 minute walk away! During our week stay, the staff were so happy and bubbly and there was lovely entertainment on every night (even free bingo which I was a HUGE fan of!) They offer spa treatments for a price which we didn't really go for as we were happy just to sunbathe for the day! Whilst sunbathing, sometimes they had women there selling clothes and they did a little cat walk around the pool. That was good because it was nice to know you could buy more clothes just on the poolside if you needed them! The food was your more than average food. It was mostly fish and beef but there were some meats that the chefs made in front of you that were very fresh and very tasty! There was a good lot of drinks to choose from too! You had to pay for named drinks but there was plenty to choose from if you go there all inclusive! You had to pay .25c for a bottle of water but that's to help with recycling so that they don't all end up in the sea. The hotel is about a 10/15 minute walk from the Hard Rock Cafe and the beach and about the same for the strip. It is such a lovely walk to go to in the day and in the night! The only thing I wasn't happy about was the life guard. In the first few mornings me and my boyfriend left out towels to go and get the rest of our stuff or went for breakfast but one day when we came back he had taken our towels and most of the towels from around the pool! Once speaking to the right people they helped up retrieve our towels and enjoy the rest of the sun. Very happy with this hotel! The staff are all very helpful and very cheerful! Will definitely be booking to stay here again! More
Good but not fantastic
we returned from our holiday here on the 13th of September 2016 we stayed 1 week all inclusive, on arrival we were the first to get there our room was ready so check in was quick and easy the receptionist was very helpful and friendly, we were given a nice drink while we checked in which was very nice. Hotel was lovely and clean and well set out your given a map on arrival and a list of the times and places your meals are served., Room maid replaced towels when required and checked room made bed ect but did not actually clean it.... we had visited the beach on one day and as a result sand followed up back to the hotel as it does it was still on the floor in places when we checked out !! rooms have everything in it you require excellent well stocked kitchen if you are going self catering, TV has some English channels on arrival there is a bottle of water in your fridge but be warned these are changeable after this one even if you are all inclusive, think they were at a change of 25cents which ok isn't much but if your a big water drinker is a little annoying considering you pay for all inclusive this usually means water, hair dryer is in bathroom, it isn't brilliant but does the job. irons and ironing boards you can get from reception at a local charge. Pool towels - this is stupid they charge you 5euro per towel you require then 1euro per clean towel you require there after... we didn't get them i refused to pay for something that should be given to you in a 4* platinum hotel - pool didn't see this being cleaned at all during our stay ... however its really nicely set out and there are plenty of beds and umbrellas - no reservation of beds is very good and is enforced you do see the guy going round everyday snatching towels off beds credit to him it did mean the best spots weren't taken at 5am in the morning around 9ish they got snatched up quickly. Food. this was our main problem with the hotel, morning breakfast was by far the best meal of the day, afternoon and evenings all was pretty much the same everyday nothing much changes also its never really hot just aired or warm...very repetitive we actually ate out for 2nights just to have a change, staff now this is also something i think needs to be changed... normally with any other platinum hotel your first drink was served for you, tea / coffee in the morning or a beer or wine at night... nope not here restaurant staff do not interact with you at all they just clear your plates when finished unless it seems you are Italian or Spanish we witnessed 3 families getting waited on hand and foot on our stay while the rest of us were left to it. Drink also never really understood this fully, we were all inclusive so local beer and wine and drinks were included along with soft drinks but not all cocktails were... now if they are using local drinks to make these cocktails why the hell are they not included in your all inclusive package ???? it baffled most of the guests while we were there. entertainment this is ok but jot fantastic considering they have such entertainment in this area which is brilliant they didn't really offer a great selection, the entertainment bar is only open until 11pm after that your kicked out of the bar to return to the lobby bar until midnight at which point drinks are they not served again until 10am the following morning. out and about. directly across from the hotel 5mins walk away is a local supermarket where you can get everything from, further 5mins away is another 24hr store that sells English crisps and chocolate and drinks should you want them. everywhere is 10-15mins walk away or in taxi around 5euro but differs depending on where you want to go, rep she is fantastic helps with everything you possibly need weather that's booking trips or just with help with the best places to go and see or eat at, she provides a 6day service so if there at different times 6 days a week and its always advertised at the desk when she is next due into the hotel. all in all we had a good holiday and would return to tenerife but would not come back to this hotelMore
Excellent hotel , 7 days of relaxation , good food and excellent staff.
We had not originally booked into Marylanza but due to Paradise Park double booking our room this is where we were relocated to. Can only say I am so glad it happened as this hotel turned out to be everything we wanted. We did think it would be out of the way but everything is within walking distance . The rooms are lovely and clean , very spacious , within easy reach to the pool, reception, spa, gym, and restaraunt. We had complementary tickets to the spa due to the hotels mix up , it was nice to visit but don't think I could have spent two hours in it . The food in the main restaraunt was amazing, something for everyone. You could eat in the a la carte restaraunt once on your stay but the food was so good we didn't bother. Snacks at the pool bar were great, toasties, cheeseburgers , pizza, chicken nuggets, chips etc . Rooms were tended to every day. We were in D115 . Room backed onto the golf course, would have liked the floor above as it had an amazing view over the golf course. The only negative I had about the hotel is the cocktails are made from concentrated syrup , I am sure they are to some peoples liking but not my favourite. Sangria was nice and Cava, can make your own alcoholic slush drinks, as there is a section at the side of the bar that you can help yourself too, Beer, Fizzy Juice, Tea, Coffee, and of course the slush machine. Every member of staff in Marylanza was lovely, very freindly, a credit to the hotel. Would not hesitate to return, it is our 30 th wedding anniversary next year and so far this hotel is on top of our list.More
