We have just recently returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. We arrived about 10pm and were promptly checked in by the reception staff who explained everything about the hotel, we opted to hire the safe for the 18euro fee for the week. We were allocated room A102 (Aloe block) this room is just above the reception bar and looked out on to the main road, the bedroom also was just outside the pool bar as well. You could hear the noise in the room from the bars and with myself not being a great sleeper at the best of times we felt the room was not for us. My husband went to the reception and explained and asked if there was another room available in a more quieter area of the hotel to which were were offered another room in the E block which was on the other side of the hotel upon looking at the room we were happy to change rooms. Room E104 is situated in the far left hand corner of the hotel above the spa, there is only 2 levels to the block and the rooms was on the lower level. It had a golf view however being on the lover level our view was obstructed by a fence and trees however it was better than the main road. It had a decent size patio with a small garden with a few plants, however due to its position it did not really get any sun. The room itself was spotless very spacious large living area with basic kitchen facilities, decent bathroom with double sink and a good size bathroom. We had fresh towels every day and beds made. Ladies bring your own hairdryer as the one in the room has to have the button held while drying which is a bit of a nightmare and its not the best. The pool area was lovely 3 pools, small kids pool, 1 large pool in the middle and a mid size pool. Plenty of sun loungers around all the pools and umbrella's, I like that sun loungers can not be reserved before 10am, if you put down your towels before 10am and go away for what ever reason the pool staff will take them off the loungers and place on a table to free up the loungers for other quests. We never had any issues in getting a lounger we usually went down to the pool approx 9.30am however if the sun is out the pool does fill up pretty quickly. The loungers themselves could do with some upgrading, if you are reading they do not sit up enough to be comfortable and if you want to lie back you need to really push it down to make sure it clicks otherwise the back pings back up every time you move. The umbrella's could also be better as these are not securely held in the base unit, if you have your umbrella up and there is a gust of wind it can pull it right out of the base. There were a number of times were people and ourselves had to retrieve their umbrella, lucky no one was hurt however I do feel this could be very dangerous and may injure someone. The pool bar had self service for soft drinks, beer and tea and coffee and spirits/cocktails and wine from the bar. I really enjoyed the food at the hotel I am a fussy eater but always found something to eat. It does become a bit samey after a while but that is normal. Good selection at breakfast between fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon etc and cold meats, bread and pastries. Lunch & Dinner had the usual salad bar, bread options, soup each day with the hot food on offer varying slightly. Within the restaurant it is self service for drinks which is great. My only note would be towards the end of the week we found the restaurant was becoming very warm and was uncomfortable, maybe need to increase the air con. If you didn't want to eat lunch in the restaurant the pool bar had snacks from 10am to 6pm. The staff within the hotel were excellent, I can not fault them one bit. Everyone was friendly and very helpful and from what I saw worked very hard to keep the hotel to a high standard. I can not comment too much on the entertainment in the disco room however we did sit some nights at the pool bar and listen to the musicians they had playing some of which were very good. The Spa was lovely we paid the 40euro for a weeks pass and we used it 4 times or you can pay 15euro for a 1 off entry. We used the spa on our last day as check out was 12pm and we were not being collected until 7.20pm so we showered and changed in there plus it has a proper hairdryer. The toilets at the pool have shower facilities and a hairdryer however I think it is the same as in the hotel rooms. Last of all the WIFI, it is a big let down very poor reception around the pool area and in our room, only decent in the main reception. I do feel this needs to be upgrade significantly. Overall I would give the hotel 7/10, if the loungers/Umbrellas and wifi were better it would be 10/10.More
Worst all inclusive ever
The worst holiday I've had this place looks lovely but the food is terrible we looked forward to eating out. We went to get sun-loungers most mornings only to tidy up plastic cups before you could actually relax. Entertainment is awful it's ok if we lived in the 1980s. The all inclusive larger comes in tiny plastic cups no bottled water only at an extra cost . I feel totally let down . Also the gym is an extra €6 a day and the spar €15 per person .. my advice would be stay away terrible place More
Have just returned after a 10-Night stay at the Marylanza Suites and Spa with my sister. The hotel on first impressions looked modern and the lobby area was large with high ceiling. We arrived about 12:30 and was told our room was not ready as the check out time at the hotel is 12:00. Like the previous reviews we did not receive a complimentary drink but noticed other arrivals in the evening did. The safety deposit box in our room cost 24 euros for the 10 nights. The hotel also has complimentary WiFi which you can get the credentials from reception. The WiFi was okay but can cut out at times but it is free so can not complain. Our room was in the 'Drago' block and our terrace looked out to the Golf Course which was always quiet. You could hear the sound of golf balls being hit in the morning which was nice. Our room was cleaned everyday and also had fresh towels. The cleaning staff do a great job in the whole hotel. The pool area is one floor up from the reception area and was always kept clean by the lifeguards and other staff who were very friendly and say good morning everyday. It was easy to get a sunbed in the mornings; so no need to get up early. Any towels on sunbeds would be removed if left unattended before 10am. The buffet restaurant is situated in the corner nearest to the 'Green Pool'. The choice of food for Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner was brilliant and everything we had was to a high standard. The evening entertainment was to the left of the reception desk down a green lit hallway and consisted of a children's disco, bingo and a show at 21:45. The best show for us was the Pirates of the Caribbean Extreme, definitely worth the watch. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to all types of guests; couples, families and friends etc. Thank you for a great holiday.More
Poor adult entertainment
On entering this hotel the lobby is big, we were checked in very quickly, only two couples checking in about 5.15 pm no drink was offered, ( later that evening other people checking in were offered drinks ) we were given a map and told where our room was and found it very quickly, G205 was our room overlooking the road and was noisy while sitting on the balcony but in the room with the door shut it was very quiet, the room was spotless and well equipped as they do half board, all inclusive, you get a fridge, oven, kettle, coffee maker, microwave with built in grill, a two ring hob. Beds were made every day, towels changed if you leave them in the bath. Three pools, two adult and one kids, in the main restaurant for Breakfast, great choice, cooked, 4 types of eggs, poached, fried, scrambled, omelette, bacon, smoked or un-smoked, sausage, beans, potatoes. Cereal, toast, no porridge, staff great efficient and friendly. Lunch, a good selection of salad vegetables cooked meats cheese. Meat cooked in front of you fish pizza Soup, and a good selection of cake pastry jelly custard fresh fruit. Evening meal just about the same as lunch, you could have something different every day and well cooked, the lamb shank just fell apart, mmmm. The snack bar opens at 10 am to 6pm where you can have a late breakfast if you had too much the night before, or you can have burgers hot dogs chips salad tea coffee cold drinks or alcohol. Adult entertainment, in my opinion was not very good, it started at 9.45pm and was usually finished by 10.30pm no disco after just thank you and goodnight. The hotel is very nice, well staffed, but if you wanted to go to the main nightlife it was a 15-20 minute walk depending on your mobility, gentle down hill going, up hill on the way back or a €5 taxi ride each way. Enjoyable week, would have been better with the entertainment finishing around 11pm or later. There is a shopping centre five minute stroll from the hotel, supermarket, designer shops and a bar called the Loft, techno music most nights with dj and lasers & smokeMore
Just come back from the Marylanza and was happy with experience . Clean Hotel and the location is great because there are no lucky men ! The Hotel is 10 mins walk to the main parts so it's good if you like peace . The New restaraunt where you can make reservations was superb. You can only make 1 booking per week at one of the special Restaraunts . Bar staff was great you don't wait to be served . Cocktails included in all inclusive what was nice . Rooms was really big, Breakfast bars in the rooms and comes with cooking facility's. There's a supermarket over the road what is really handy . Glad we came. We had a lovely time and would defiantly come back More
