Relax, Relax, Relax
This has been our third visit to the Marylanza,, it's set on the boarder of Los Cristianos and Las Americas, out of the town centre but close enough for a 5 minute stroll where you can visit shops aplenty. There's a new shopping centre across the road and a supermarket for your groceries if your self catering. The complex comprises of a gym and spa and for 40 euros a week you can visit and unwind, if your feeling energetic there's a golf course at the back and for fun a water park just a stones throw away. We love this hotel because it's friendly and the staff are so genuinely helpful with always a smile to greet you (they could win awards for this). The food is always plentiful and freshly cooked, if you have a special occasion just ask and they will go that extra mile. It's clean, comfortable and a fantastic place to stay. This year they have improved on TV facilities and WIFiI which is a must in today's lifestyle. Keep up the fantastic work Marylanza, see you next year ðMore

Another great week
My wife and I and a couple of friends have just returned from a weeks holiday here, it is my 5th visit to the Marylanza Hotel in 4 years. The hotel is nice with very good staff and an excellent choice of food. We were a little disappointed to find the reception bar area shut down after only being here two nights, fetching drinks from the opposite end of the building was a little bit of an nuisance,I think it would of been a lot better if staff had been laid on to wait on the tables in the reception bar. I fully understand you have work to do and improvements to make but this was a bit of a pain that could of been made better by you laying on table service. This being our 5th visit here one thing we also noticed is the building is starting to look a little shabby in places, when you walk to your room you notice a lot of the corners are knocked off the walls and sharp edges are sticking out which is quite dangerous for small children and requires looking at, the place just looks in need of a bit of TLC. To sum up the Marylanza is a very good hotel, it's clean and has very helpful friendly staff, the food is excellent with vast choice. So please don't let your high standards slip which on this visit we feel may be starting to happen. A special mention again to your fabulous waitress Sandra she is so lovely, thanks for all your hard work Sandra.More
Relaxing holiday but need outside/cosy bar in evening
Just returned from a very nice stay, we were lucky enough to be in a suite at the front of the hotel which meant we had the sun form 9am to 6pm. Road noise was hardly bothersome. As previous reviewers have said the food, drinks and staff all first class. We bought a weeks couple package for the spa and gym well worth it for â¬80. Only little gripe was the lack of a cosy bar area for the evening, unless you wanted to go in the entertainment area or sit in the brightly lit lobby there was no were else to sit, apart from of course your balcony but then you are away from the bar area. Don't be put off by the "secluded" description, really is an easy walk into Playa Americas and if too tired for return the taxi costs around â¬5. Room safe hire â¬18 for the week. Although no wifi in the rooms it can be ccessed in reception/lobby area for free.More

Hi my wife and I have just returned from a weeks break at the Marylanza overall its really a nice place the staff are friendly and happy to help. The rooms are well equipped and spacious. The food was well cooked and there was plenty of choice. The drinks were the usual (all inc) Fair, local larger and spirits. The evenings entertainment was poor though to say the least but apparently was not booked by the present management so I'm not sure what could have been done. Wifi was only available in the lobby. The pool area was clean and plenty of sun loungers never saw anyone in the blue pool (too cold) but the green pool was fine. So on the whole a nice place my only real gripe was we had room C109 directly above the restaurant so was very noisy from 7am for breakfast apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.More

Marylanza in January
We arrived at the Marylanza by coach transfer from a weeks cruise on the Thomson Majesty at approx.12.30 pm to be informed by reception that our room/suite was not yet available and may not be until 4 pm! We were handed a key for the luggage room for safe storage of our cases, suggesting we may care to go and a have a drink or lunch at the pool bar (lunch in the restaurant was 1 pm to 3 pm) They ask for your mobile number in order to call you when your room/suite is ready. We eventually were given the card keys for suite B101 about 2.30 pm. So not a great start but check-out time is no later than noon so to be expected I suppose as the place is spotless. It also has to be said that every member of staff we encountered were friendly and behaved in a professional and courteous manner. This room/suite/apartment, is huge, so spacious. It is furnished with very dark polished wood furniture (typically Spanish and quality). The balcony of this first floor apartment was also very large, probably half as big again as the neighboring apartments. It is on the corner facing the road and new shopping mall. The balcony got the sun all day. The rooms were serviced everyday with linen and towels being changed on a regular basis. We found the pillows rather hard and uncomfortable after our first night (memory foam) I think. This was quickly put right by our room maid as was a request for more coat hangers for the wardrobe. It was a challenge with my limited Spanish and the maids limited English but rewarding in that we communicated. I could have picked up the phone in the suite and called reception as they speak perfect English but this way was more fun.. lovely soft pillows were our reward. We were on an all inclusive basis at the hotel and found all the house wines palatable. Cava was also available at all the bars, though not at dinner on an evening! Bottles and bottles of it available with your breakfast if you wish! We did try the house gin and tonic but found the tonic too sweet for our taste, so we stuck to wine, cava and lager(Dorada) with the odd brandy after dinner. There did appear to be much more choice on the drinks menu without incurring a supplement to pay for anyone with more adventurous tastes. The food in the restaurant was always presented very artistically and was of a very good quality (much better than the previous week on the cruise) All the drinks on a self serve basis with lots of choice on the buffet of hot and cold dishes. Not forgetting the chefs at the plancha (griddle) cooking selections of fish, chicken and meats which included steak, langoustines/gambas (large prawns) depending on the day. Not forgetting a carved joint every night. The veal was so tender it melted in your mouth.. Breakfasts were excellent also with plenty of good bacon eggs and sausages. If smoked salmon and caviar is to your taste for breakfast with your glass of cava then it was there also.Plus a host of meats, cheeses, cereals, fruits and fresh bread. The hotel is not as far away from the nearest beach as it appears on the map, maybe a 10 to 15 min walk depending on your level of mobility. There are also many many bars and restaurants in the close vicinity. Just over the road from the hotel is a new shopping mall with a huge supermarket called Mercadona, if you are on a self catering basis only then this supermarket is fantastic. A 5ltr bottle of water can be purchased for about 70 cents here. (water is not part of the A.I.) There is one courtesy 1.5 ltr bottle provided in your refrigerator. Though you can help yourself at water dispensers placed at all the bars using the small plastic beakers. Most of the entertainment we watched was very enjoyable and varied, singers, groups, magicians and acrobats... There are 3 pools, a small childrens pool, then the blue pool and the green pool where the animation team do their bit during the day. The green pool is heated. If you don't believe that then do as the Director General suggests, stick your toe in the blue pool in winter then try it in the green pool... OK, now just book and go and enjoy.. It was our first visit to Marylanza but it won't be the last, the climate in January this year was also very very nice.More
