Relaxing, friendly and fun

24 of us visited the Marylanza in August 2015 for a week. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are lovely and spacious. Upon arriving, we were given a free room upgrade by a polite and friendly member of staff. All staff mirrored this helpful and warm approach throughout the holiday and nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded to a suite which overlooked the golf course - truly beautiful. Unfortunately, some of our party were in rooms which overlooked a main road. Some paid extra to upgrade at 20 euros a night, which was worth it. Pools are spacious, and there are activities going on throughout the day. We did find the evening entertainment to be a letdown, but I think this is reflective of the fact that this holiday is definitely for the more "relaxing" holiday maker, given it is a Spa and Golf resort. There are shops close by, and Playa De Las Americas is a short taxi drive away. I would have preferred to be a little more central, however as an 18 year old who enjoyed going out to pubs and bars I think this is down to personal preference. Wide range of drinks and cocktails available day and night. Food was lovely, but selection was limited. Beautiful hotel, but entertainment was limited and location isn't excellent. I would recommend this hotel highly for those who are looking for a laid back and slightly more relaxing holiday.More

Good hotel

Nice hotel, large rooms, plenty of space. We overlooked the road but it wasn't a problem. Only a few steps down .to the pool, two big pools, one heated. The hotel is a pretty looking building, only two stories high. . Buffet really nice, good variety unfortunately it wasn't very warm, shame it would have been that much nicer. We had duck one day, superb! The tables were cleared quickly. The lounge of an evening was a pleasant place to sit in, always some sort of entertainment going on. The staff were always so cheerful and helpful. We visited the Kentori restaurant, it was supposed to be beef but I'm a little concerned it was veal, I really hope they didn't tell porkies! Taxis reasonable.More

Not bad

Stayed here with some friends and it was clean tidy and they appreciated your space...all inclusive wasnt bad. Drinks range limited food not varied enough and not of high enough quality for me, however service friendly plenty of staff and close enough to walk into town...try harleys for cocktails and food! The hotel is large and very clean ,the staff are very friendly the only thing that annoyed me was we booked well in advance and payed extra for a golf view but what we weren't told is you don't get any sun at all from morning to night even though you have two sun beds on the balcony. Also some people got a free upgrade which isn't fair when some are paying also the apartment was cold and dark because they are all north facing .the entertainment at night is a bit flat nothing going on around the pool even though though there is a bar. Would go again but book myself no need to go through Thompson .More

Lorraine H,

A Birthday surprise

I was taken to the Marylanza Suites & Spa Tennirife for my 60th birthday surprise holiday from my husband, had 2weeks there, we have been there before about 15months ago. We were late getting to the hotel, should have been 20min but turned out 11/2 hours, so when we got there it was just gone 9 at night, the reception staff were very good their said go in and have your dinner and we will sort out your room later. So we did, as we hadn't eaten since breakfast, it was lovely, just as I remember it was. Then we went back to reception and was told that we have been up graded to poolside suite (should be 20€ a day extra) but free for us. The suite was lovely and clean, well equipe and looking out over the pool. That's why it was 20€ day extra and if you have a golf course outlook that was the same too. There was no differentu in suite to what we had 15months ago, comfitable, clean and as I said equips well. They still had Christmas tree and decoration up it was gorgeous then after the next week or so they were all removed, shame it looked lovely. The Marylanza is in a good spot to walk anywhere. Two good markets, 1 on Tues and 1on Sat at Las Christieano's and the other is the other side of the port in Las Americanos ( sorry no good at spelling) 1 Thurs and Sat, both are for tourists no veg nor fruit you can buy those at supermarket, saying that if you come out of the door of Marylanza cross the road turn right walk to the first crossroad you come too, then turn left just walk up the road then cross the road and you come to a new little shopping centre which has smoothie bars, shops one of then is H&M and a sister supermarket of Aldi's which we had a great walk around and buying good food, there is also a playground for kids, sadly not for us adults. You are not far from the seafront and shops and a lovely prom to walk from Las Christearnos to Las Americas and beyond it's a lovely walk just take your time and have a wonderful holiday as I did. The only downer was the main shopping road was being dug up to put new pipe work in all along the main road, but they've dug up but not filled in as they go along and it is a mess, but the shops are still trading. This was the hottest Jan since records began, there were a lot of people walking, swimming, running and sunbathing.More
