St Lucia β for relaxation-ready familiesΒ
St Lucia might have a reputation as a hotspot for honeymooners, but itβs a seriously underrated family holiday destination, too. Thereβs plenty of room for running around and burying the most-willing member of the fam in the sand on this islandβs typically tropical beaches β plus, theyβre ideal for catching some winter sun. Itβs a nine-hour flight to get to St Lucia, but the coastal scenes are so worth it.Β Β
Go for a stay at the Bay Gardens Hotel, which is close to Rodney Bayβs seafront, and you can take advantage of the free bus down to the beach. Plus, best of all, the price tagβs family-friendly, too.Β

Fuerteventura β for all-ages familiesΒ

Yes, this Canary Island is home to around 150 beaches for chilling, but itβs also the kind of place where activities are on offer around every corner. Go on a 4×4 off-road tour, exploring volcanic craters and rugged wildlife, or hop on board a pirate ship and cruise along the coast spotting dolphins β thereβs so much to pick from.Β Β
Hotel-wise, stay close to all the action at the Hotel Chatur Costa Caleta. Itβs just a 10-minute walk from the beach and even closer to the local shops and restaurants. That said, thereβs no need to escape the hotel β there are four pools alone here, plus a kidsβ club and sports courts.Β Β

Cyprus β for history-loving familiesΒ
School might be out, but if your lot are still keen to keep learning, then Cyprus is a bit of you. This island is the mythological birthplace of Greek goddess, Aphrodite, but thatβs just the start of its ancient cred. Head to the Paphos Archaeological Park to spot the UNESCO-accredited Tombs of the Kings and a host of other historical gems. Then, if you get tired of exploring, thereβs always Cyprusβ 60-odd Blue Flag stretches to balance it all out with some beach days. With temperatures hovering in the teens at this time of year, itβs toastier than it is at home, but still cool enough to comfortably see the sights.Β
Head to the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort β itβs made for families who donβt like to sit still. Thereβs a giant lagoon pool β plus an activity pool complete with water slides β as well as sports courts, evening entertainment and art classes to sign up to. Bet they donβt teach traditional Cypriot skills like basket-making or silk painting back home…Β
