Stayed for 3 days at the hotel during a family reunion. The hotel room is okay. We had dinner the first night at the hotel restaurant. The experience that night turned out to be a forecast of what to expect the next two evenings in the restaurant. My partner has a serious food allergy, which was addressed months before our stay. Worst stay ever..
Stayed with my family for 4 days and dined all days in the restaurant.
1. Dining experience was poor. Ordered chicken risotto but was served with plain rice and a very dry chicken.
2. Day was a disaster. Ordered a fish that smelled so bad that I refused to eat it. The dish was replaced with a pasta dish with pesto.

Very average experience here. Some of the front desk staff were plain rude & unhelpful. There was little to no hot water for showering. The rooms are trying to be fancy but really are just a bit outdated....

My husband and I were guests at the Barsey for 10 nights during September. It was a truly delightful experience. All the staff from the receptionists to the chambermaids to the general handyman were among the most helpful people we have ever met. We spent five nights there in August 2025. We would like to commend the very kind and helpful staff, from the beginning to the end of our stay. The hotel is not located in the city center, but its not far either. Its an excellent location for those who prefer a quieter area, away from the tourist crowds, and who enjoy walking everywhere.
