No hot water for showers

Very average experience here. Some of the front desk staff were plain rude & unhelpful. There was little to no hot water for showering. The rooms are trying to be fancy but really are just a bit outdated....

My husband and I were guests at the Barsey for 10 nights during September. It was a truly delightful experience. All the staff from the receptionists to the chambermaids to the general handyman were among the most helpful people we have ever met. We spent five nights there in August 2025. We would like to commend the very kind and helpful staff, from the beginning to the end of our stay. The hotel is not located in the city center, but its not far either. Its an excellent location for those who prefer a quieter area, away from the tourist crowds, and who enjoy walking everywhere. Had not come here for a few years and thought I would try. Interior now very dated and main areas like breakfast/ dinner very old fashioned and tired looking.
Bedrooms are good, bathrooms refitted and good shower. But the overall impression is hotel needs modernising.
Had dinner in the attached restaurant, Chutneys. Ok but very average and again hasnt changed in years.
For the cost, there are better choices loc...

Hotel is top noch, really well kept and located just a breath away from the bus and tram stops which made transportation to the city center super convenient. The staff are all friendly especially the greek woman at the concierge which i do not recall her name considering i visited last december.
