    The family-run Hotel Oykun's got a relaxing atmosphere thanks to its pools, spa and proximity to the beach.

    At this family-friendly hotel, there's a sun terrace which houses two swimming pools – plus two more just for kids. The restaurant serves international and Turkish favourites throughout the day, and barbecue nights take place once a week.

    The hotel's located on Turkey's south-west Turquoise Coast. Only five minutes' walk away is Calis Beach, which has laidback nightlife and open-air dining along the seafront. From there, it's a 10-minute drive to the lively coastal city of Fethiye.

    The hotel is in such a convenient and ideal location. You are a 2 min walk away from the nearest restaurant and bar to grab your Efes. Calis is a fantastic place with lots to do and see and has such lovely people. Goldie and Faruk on Reception are absolutely fantastic and have been great on the previous visits we made. The pools are fantastic and are very well looked after. The bar is still very good even without Freddie! But something a few other guests and I experienced was that lunch service seems to of gone down hill. On the 2 days we ate in the hotel for lunch we weren’t greeted at all, given menus or even attempted to be communicated with. It felt that when you eventually made eye contact with a member of staff, they shyed away from you. This is not something many would be accustomed to when Mehmet was there. It really felt like the team there now lacked a bit of leadership. That said, the food was decent and reasonably priced, just be prepared to wait a little while to get it. The accommodation is very basic in the “new block” and I would say is in much need of some TLC. In our room the shower door was hanging on by a thread, as was the toilet roll holder. The bed was very lumpy and difficult for us to sleep on comfortably and finally the Tv aerial lead wasn’t actually long enough to reach the Tiny TV that was mounted on the wall. But we made do and continued to enjoy our holiday, after all you don’t go on holiday to sit in your room 24/7. After going to the Oykun hotel a few times now these things seem trivial and you come to expect some of it but I can’t help but thinking if “newbies” came and stayed in the same room we were in, they probably wouldn’t go back in the future as it may spoil their experience. I will definitely return to Calis in the future but I’m 50/50 as to whether or not I would go back here as I know there are lots of other lovely hotels in the area for the same price that have the upper hand when it comes to the rooms and how they are presented, which is a huge shame.

    Just wanted to post a review of my recent holiday to Turkey. At first I was abit nervous about going away especially during this pandemic but I can honestly say I felt very safe and confident that all the necessary safety precautions were in place. Of course having to wear face coverings is now mandatory, you literally cover up when you enter the airport and throughout your journey until you reach the resort! On arrival at the hotel we discovered that TUI didn’t confirm our reservation but luckily I had a copy of my reservation on my email, the staff at Oykun were very accommodating and reassured me that they would give us a temporary room and move to another room the next day. They gave us a family room in the old block on the 3rd floor which was huge, only snag was that we had to pay for a fridge which was £15 a week but it was very necessary due to the hot weather, so didn’t mind! But other than that the hotel was lovely and clean, Breakfast was yummy lots to choose from, we had lunch everyday there which was very reasonable, beds made up everyday and clean towels changed too! Rose in the bar is lovely and sweet, she works very hard and always serves with a smile! Definitely recommend this place, looking to go back next year! Thank you to everyone at hotel oykun!

    Just returned from 2 weeks at the Oykun Hotel, my third visit here. As usual the hotel staff went above and beyond in order to assure a pleasant stay. All rooms come with included air conditioning though a small refrigerator will cost you an extra £15 a week, also a charge for room safe. The breakfast buffet is just amazing with comprehensive choice of fruits, breads, cheeses, salads, yoghurt, fried eggs, omelette made fresh to order as well as pastries, spreads and other dishes. The hotel is situated just behind the main strip and an peaceful oasis of calm, a short walk away from the beach and promenade where the sunset dining is a must. I recommend the 12 island boat cruise which can be obtained for between £8 and £10,dependent on who you book through, I chose Focus Tours and sailed on the Focus Queen. Its a long day and the price includes hotel transfers to and from the boat and a light lunch of either fish or chicken with salad and pasta. Refreshments are extras. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommendation of the Oykun Hotel where Goldie on reception will aspire to do her very best to help you with anything and everything, Rose on the bar is also a beautiful soul. This is perhaps the most beautiful part of the Turkish coast, surrounded by the Taurus mountains and with boat trips around the islands of the Aegean, there's also a water taxi from Calis across the bay to Fethiye every half hour for 12. 5 Turkish lira, £1,30 or so each way. At the time I was there the exchange rate was 9.65 Turkish lira to the pound, a vast improvement on the 4.50 I got on my first visit a few years ago.

    On my last day at hotel & it has been a fabulous stay.2 nice pools with plenty of loungers,bar area is spacious & wonderful Rose behind the bar will make your holiday very pleasant with her always welcoming smile,like Goldie on reception who cares for your every need.Plenty to choose from at breakfast considering its a Turkish one.Egg station is very handy.Resort for beer& food is dirt cheap but the quality in most eateries is very high.After doing this i deserves a nice cold Efes!!!!!☀️🍺
