Premier Le Reve

We stayed at the Premier Le Reve between 5/11/18 and 12/11/18. It was our first time in Shal Hasheesh. It took about one hour to transfer from the airport but a good chunk of this was down to the incompetence of First Choice as the bus seemed to go a very long way around. I think maybe 40 minutes should be a maximum time normally. Our first impressions were very good with a large hotel foyer. We had booked a sea view room (3203) as a little treat for ourselves. We were a little disappointed as our seaview room was actually furthest away from the sea. It was flat onto the sea but also tucked into a corner. I think you would get a better view of the pool and sea in a pool view room. Anyway the room itself was very nice and it was well looked after by Mohammed who did an excellent job. The pool area itself was well maintained with good quality sunbeds. We stayed by the heated pool everyday as we liked our daily swim. We had our daytime drinks and post dinner drinks at the pool bar. The staff were again very good. Special mention to Hany who remembered what drink you had every time you ordered another. The food in the main restaurant was excellent and easily the best we have had in all our trips to Egypt. We found it difficult to choose what to have as it would be impossible to try everything. Pre dinner we had drinks in the Lobby bar and again the service was very good, special mention to Amr. We tried the Chinese al la carte restaurant for our anniversary meal and the staff decorated our table for us before we went in which was very nice. We could have used more of the speciality restaurants but we loved the food in the main restaurant so didn’t bother. One gripe we did have was the lack of small notes of Egyptian currency as we do like to tip for good service. The automatic bank machines always give out large denomination notes and it is very difficult to change them. We went to reception to try. We were told to come back at 10am. Then we were told to come back at 3pm then at 5pm. The final time we were told they didn’t have any small notes. The receptionist says the machine always provides big notes and they can’t provide change for everyone but we thought this poor service as we had been told to keep coming back. Why does the hotel not carry more 10egp and 20egp notes as part of customer service. Surely all they have to do is get some from a bank – not rocket science as clearly reception get asks for change all the time. So a few problems but overall it was excellent. We will go back next year for our 40th wedding anniversary next year but even though it is a special occasion we won’t bother with the sea view room. Will just book a pool view room as we though the seaview upgrade wasn’t worth the extra money.

We went on holiday to do absolutely nothing, to forget about work and de stress. This is exactly what we did. On arrival we were greeted with a cool towel and a drink, lovely touch after a day travelling. The hotel and its grounds are very well maintained, they are peaceful and relaxing. There are plenty of sunbeds either by the many pools or on the beach for everyone, all with sunshades, despite the usual 'people putting towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn'. The staff can't do enough for you, always with a smile on their face. We ate in 3 of the a la carte restaurants, the food was excellent in all, as was the service. The buffet restaurant offered a very varied selection of hot and cold food all of good quality. Our room was clean and comfortable, huge bed! Lovely balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. There was never any noise either from outside or other rooms. A lovely tranquil place to re-charge your batteries and get away from the stresses of daily life.

just been back for our 8th visit, everything remains of high quality from the food to the cleanliness. The staff are the high point for most repeat guests, and whereas it's hard to single out anyone, Carlos serving copious amounts of drinks round the pool and second guessing what you need before you even know, and Lewis in the Executive Lounge need a special mention. We always visit Max in the jewellers and always manage a little spend, nothing is too much trouble for him. The management are exceptional and see everything that happens, and deal with any issues in a very professional way. I'm sure we'll be back!
