Hotel Devamli

We’ve just had another very pleasant holiday at this very popular small hotel run by the Devamli family. The unit comprises the ‘Love Boat’ silver service restaurant and the ‘Sport Inn’ sport-themed bar, together with the hotel above them. There are about ten wide steps (with handrails) from the street to the hotel reception area, whence a small lift serves all floors except for the roof-top penthouse. The pool is small and on the north-facing side of the hotel. The west-facing sun terrace is furnished with comfortable loungers. The rooms are small, but the hotel is clean enough. There were shower gel and shampoo dispensers in the showers, but these were not topped up once emptied, so you may wish to pack some of your usual toiletries. There were also tea- and coffee-making facilities in the rooms, but the ingredients are probably not the brands you’re used to; so if you’re thinking of drinks in your room, pack some sachets, teabags, plastic milk, or whatever. The rooms have decent wall-mounted TVs with access to the main BBC and ITV channels. The air-con is quiet and was free. Room safes were chargeable. Rooms at the front of the hotel have an interesting street scene but are quite noisy from very early in the morning right through into the early hours. Rooms at the rear have a less interesting outlook but are much quieter. The guests are almost all British and friendly, many of them regulars; so if you have any queries, whilst you can always ask the staff at the 24/7 reception desk or the travel rep, don’t be afraid to ask a friendly, seasoned visitor. Many newcomers say they’ll be coming back soon. The hotel is in the centre of Içmeler, within easy walking distance of local shops, and of other restaurants and bars if and when not using the hotel’s own services. The usual general advice to the newcomer applies to Içmeler as elsewhere: a high proportion of visitors to Içmeler are returnees, many regulars, so if you’re going elsewhere to eat or drink rather than using the hotel’s own facilities, usually take the last seat in a busy establishment rather than the first seat in empty one, as it is probably busy or empty for good reason. Dolmuşes (minibuses) and water taxis (small, motorised communal ferry boats) within easy range provide regular services to reighbouring Marmaris and Turunç. There is a taxi rank adjoining the hotel. Stayed at devamili hotel in icmeler for 2 weeks bed & breakfast, nice hotel,staff lovely,fresh towels every day,great location minutes from beach. Central for everything, breakfasts were in loveboat restaurant below hotel,i found our room a little small but managed ok x had everything you need.

Our apartment that we booked turned out to be very bad , We found this place and moved there for the rest of our holiday, The staff were kind and friendly and could not do enough to help us when we told them what had happened. Rooms cleaned every day my two lovely ladies, Reception staff always polite and friendly. Food great and a good choice. Good central location with reasonable rates. Tony & Olga
