Isla Mujeres Palace

We absolutely Love Isa Mujeres Palace! It is a small resort with a wonderful community of staff that go above and beyond to make your stay the absolute best experience! When you first arrive at the resort (we have transportation included since we are memebers and were delivered right at the Palace dock) you are greeted warmly by Roxana, Martha and Jesus. Their smiles and genuine care set the tone that you immediately know your time at the resort will be outstanding! Silvia, the general manager, is an amazing person who has a great relationship with all her staff and makes herself known to the guests. There is only one restaurant open for dinner but each night there is a themed menu along with the standard menu. The food is amazing! Chef Reynaldo and his assistants (Eyner) create magnificient dishes that look beautiful and taste delicious! Breakfast is also served in the same restaurant. (The week we were there everything was ordered off the menu and a cart was brought tableside with fruit and sweets served by staff - I'm not sure if it is always done this way or if a buffet is usually set up and you order at the station omlets, waffles, etc. - We were there right before the resort was closing due to COVID-19). The servers at breakfast are the best ever! Wilma, Joel, Juan (the happiest person you will ever meet!), and Paolo (who knew we stopped for coffee to take to the pool always had our cups and creme tequila and licor 43 waiting for us and would bring it to the pool for us. We so appreciated his generosity and care of us) As you enter the restaurant, Mitzi greets you with her beautiful smile and warm words. The grounds are well-maintained; the gardens are kept beautiful...I wish i knew the gardeners name(s) because they really deserve to be recognized! The pool is always sparkling clean (thank you to the pool maintenance worker!) We always had exceptional servers poolside. Many thanks to Macedonio, Christian (he also makes amzing Mexican coffee and desserts!), Dario, and Ulises (who makes the best ever chocolate martinis!) These guys kept the drinks coming and everyone happy! There is a wood-fired, brick pizza oven and a pool snack bar manned by Marten who is phenomenal! We usually ate here for lunch and everything was delicious! There is also a cervicheria that is open for lunch and the food there is wonderful! Boris and Santiago were very entertaining and kept the guests laughing with volleyball, guessing games and spanish lessons! Fermin is the amazing pool concierge that will help you with anything you need! He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. We also must compliment the amazing bartender, Edy! He can make anything you ask for! Alejandra is a pure joy! She is outgoing and friendly, extremely helpful! You need to see Lourdes to make any spa treatments or tour reservations and she is kind and helpful. Dinner is a wonderful, relaxing, and delicious experience at the end of each day. Each night our servers made this meal extraordinary! Julian, Moises, Arturo, Franscisco, Bryan and Andy all have the brightest smiles, positive attitudes and honestly go above and beyond to make your dinner the perfect ending to a perfect day! Alvaro does an exeptional job! a big shout-out of thankfulness to the cleaning staff...our rooms were always exceptionally clean and turn down service very much appreciated! The entire resort is very clean. (Wish I knew their names but we were very rarely in the room while they were there.) There is no place I would rather be than at Isla Mujeres Palace! The last night before the resort was closing and all 12 guests would be leaving the next day, the GM, management and chefs invited us all to a special dinner. It was amazing! (That's the kind of love they have for their guests!) The staff have become familia to us and our hearts are broken that they will not be working for a long time due to the COVID-19 virus. We will keep them in our prayers and support them as much as we can until we are able to visit them again!

From the moment you reach the dock, a sense of peace will come over you and you get to begin your stay with the pampering this staff is famous for! We had a wonderful week and can't wait until we can return! While there are lots of things to do on the island, we chose to enjoy the quiet and the gorgeous views! This resort is small, but what they lack in size, they make up for with the best customer service....Pilar and Deiby! The restaurant staff, Mitzi, Jessica, Wilma, Paolo, Macedonio, Carlos, Antonio, Alvaro, Joel, Arturo, Julian and the restaurant managers were wonderful! Wilma tried to teach me Spanish! Alejandro, our bartender is not only an amazing artist, but helped make sure that my alcoholic beverages were as sugar free as possible! I'm missing his Margaritas! Fermin was a great diamond concierge and made sure we had everything we needed. The resort manager, Silvia, does such an amazing job. I always judge a place by the people who work there and these people love where they are and their jobs, attesting to her management style....she is hands on and makes sure everything runs smoothly. The Spa was small but mighty. Unfortunately I didn't write down the names of the ladies who gave us our treatments. I hope that the management will look up the ones we used so they receive the accolades they deserve! We left as they were beginning to close due to the virus. In a short week, these people became our family and we wish them the best during this difficult time.

We went to Isla Mujeres March 13th, for a week and then was to go to Sun Palace for a week, however COVID 19 arrived. A few days into our vacation we had to plan on how to get home, however we made the best of it. This was our 3rd time to Isla, and with all the COVID stuff going on the staff were as pleasant and accomodating as possible. Roxana who also remembered us was amazing having things sent to our room or anything we needed while we were there, always making sure everything was perfect When we arrived Jesus greeted us with a big smile and our welcome drinks. Martha at the front desk was smiliing and remembered us from 2 years ago, and is always a pleasure to deal with. Cristobal was there as well and set us up with our bands and took care of us. At the lobby bar Edy made us some drinks before we headed out to the pool. He was there 2 years ago and rememebered us, which makes it feel like coming home when the staff remember us. Pilar well she is amazing, always so helpful and making things right, I got a great big hug when I saw her as we dealt with her last year and have stayed friends. Alejandra is new to the resort since we were there last, big smile and accomodating just as Pilar. She had Champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and one night rose pedals in our room. These ladies always go above and beyond, and they are part of the reason we keep coming back. In the restaurant whether it was breakfast or dinner Juan, Christian, Moises,Carlos, Wilma, Alvero, Roberto, Andy, always looked after all our needs. Their sense of humour, their caring mannerism was outstanding. No one ever passed by you without asking if you needed anything or were okay. Always smiling and happy. The other thing that impressed me was the waiters remembered the Wine we liked from the night before and brought that to the table, its those extra touches that make Palace amazing. By the pool bar which is where we were everyday either sitting at the pool bar or by it, Victor, Ulises, Arley always brought us drinks and food. Constantly checking to see if we needed anything and always smiling no matter what they were doing. Martin made my lunch everyday at the pool bar, the best calamari ever, and the pizzas were amazing. He too always had a smile and was so very sweet. The two Activities/Entertainment guys and Pool Conceirge,Santiago and Boris and Ferman, always made a point to come by and say hi and to chat with us. Even though the occupancy was very low, they worked hard at trying to get a water volleyball game going. Santiago did Spanish Lessons, a game on the white board. It amazed me everyday even though there was not alot of guests they all interacted with everyone which was so nice. We did the Romantic Dinner which is always so nice except this time the mosquitos were out, we have never had that problem. Moises went and got the OFF and we used that, it did help. Another example of an employee going above and beyond. We had the Chefs dinner as well out of the Pier that was a really nice treat. Chef David and his staff prepared and served an amazing dinner, thank you. I also had two spa treatments. One was the day after we got there, and I will be honest (and didn't get her name) but apparently she was there for the day from Moon Palace. She was not pleasant at all. Islas spa is very small and a little hallway, I went in and she was doing a pedicure on a lady (who I learned later was my friend) and was very abrupt with me and said she was busy to come back in a half hour and wait outside. I had an appt at the time I went in. Anyhow she did my treatment on my legs and feet and was very rough and not kind at all. After I was done my friend told me it was her in there and she couldn't believe how she spoke to me. I had another treatment a few days later by Navidad and that was an amazing experience with the hot stone massage. She was so sweet, kept asking if I was okay. The other ladies that were there then were all so nice and sweet. We did the "update" talk with David, he is so awesome. We have met him a few times and we chat about family and many things. Always makes us comfortable and never pushes us into anything. Gives us great advice. Sure hope we can see him on our next visit Unfortunatley because of the COVID 19 the week was not the same as usual, however you would never know that from the employees. These employees give their 100% all the time, even through these tough times. My heart goes out to each and every employee with Palace, this is a very hard time for them right now as tourists are their business. If your looking for a quiet time away and to be catered to this is it Thanks for making our week enjoyable and we look forward to coming back soon. Cheri
