This was our first visit to Istanbul and unfortunately its not somewhere we would choose to return to.
The hotel itself is fineslightly dated, but clean and comfortable. One thing to note is that there is no kettle in the room, so if you enjoy a cup of tea, its worth bringing a travel kettle.

We stayed there for several nights prior to a cruise. Its quite dated and needs a good makeover. We were in a suite, so paid reasonable money. For a 5 star hotel you would expect USB ports/chargers and lifts that provided a reasonably efficient service. We stayed for one night at the Intercontinental ahead of boarding a cruise in Istanbul. I always think the one thing you can be sure of in a 5 star hotel is a shower with hot running water - not here! The cold water gushed from the shower head, turn the tap to hot and the water stops! After being up for 18hrs and just wanting to shower and sleep we were thoroughly invigorated by our cold showers!! Had we been staying...
