When we arrived at the hotel we were warmly welcomed by a friendly receptionist who instructed us on practical matters and recommended nearby restaurants. Because we were going to stay there for ten days, we had sent a request for the room via email in advance. We were glad that our wishes were taken into consideration. I very much enjoyed my one-night stay. The staff was very nice, the room was large, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great. The pousada doesn't serve any other meals, but the very helpful and friendly staff gave several restaurant recommendations that were in walking distance. I recommend requesting a second floor room facing the Palacio Queluz because some of the first floor rooms do look out on the park...

I paid about $172/night via Priceline for two nights. Huge, spacious, clean room. Minifridge. Bathroom is fine except water from sink is not good pressure. Large shower with overhead and detachable heads. Plenty of hot water. Excellent buffet breakfast included. No restaurant, but there is a bar. Right across the street from the palace. AC did not work in May so hotel could save money. Friendly, professional staff th...

Pestana guarantees that any Pousada stay will be on a high standard. This small property is part of the palace area of Queluz which makes it interesting in general.
In our case it was also affordabel (double 75 incl. 2+2 city tax breakfast always included in all Pousadas), however the decor is from 2000 or so, nothing freaky here - at least not for younger folks (below 40). the usual rates around 150 are by far...

Positive:
+ extremely kind and helpful staff at the front desk
+ room was in good condition, nothing was too old. Most important to us: the beds were large enough and comfortable. It was also quiet as long as one remembers to close the "inner doors of the windows".
+ there is plenty of parking space available if needed.
Neutral:
* breakfast was ok. Maybe a bit too much "sweet stuff" for Scandinavian taste
