Aside from a few minor shortcomings, this was a terrific place to stay for 6 nights. The location is excellent for walking to major museums/sights; the beds and pillows were very good and the room was quiet; the buffet breakfast was extensive, elaborate, and a great way to start the day; the staff was friendly and helpful.
There are many choices in Madrid, and this is not the cheapest - but we're glad we stayed her...

Great hotel, with super competent and friendly staff. On top of this it has a fantastic location,.....ticks all the boxes. The mattress was so comfortable and the pillows just right. Loved it. The breakfast was excellent and definitely worth splashing out on!...

AMAZING! This hotel is nothing but awesome all round. The super staff were always friendly and helpful, the decor is fun and interesting, the breakfast is full of homemade treats, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, the location is central, all of it is just perfect. You seriously couldn't ask for more....

Alba was my second Room Mate hotel and a really good experience.
Location very central, just 5 mins from Sol and Calle Mayor, and 10-15 mins from the palace and AtochaAlmudena rail station lots of small bars, cafes, restaurants and shops very nearby.
Rooms we stayed in a penthouse room, essentially an attic room on floor 7 at the front of the building. Good size, very quiet internally though a bit of stree...

ROOM - high quality. We upgraded to the superior (which was offered by email for 9/night) and for that we got a Juliette balcony, which was nice. The beds are amazingly comfortable. Aircon worked well too (even in February). No milk for the coffee though, or tissues.
