Overall the hotel is absolutely gorgeous with a great location and beautiful decor. The rooms were of a high standard and very cleanly. However, the service was mostly very poor. Particularly the restaurant staff, with the young female boss in the ponytail being incredibly rude. After conversing in Spanish fine she decided we were only to speak in English but she could not understand my party and I. This led to her g...

Every hotel should have an Irene on the front desk! Rarely have I felt more welcomed in an establishment than at this hotel; Irene is a real credit to the hotel.
That said, all the staff were great. All of them were friendly, engaging and happy to cope with my rather slow (and somewhat faulty) Spanish; it's a work in progress, and so I didn't want to speak English. And there are plenty of members of staff, so there...

I want to share a super pleasant experience, although I didn't stay at VP Plaza Espana Design, I explain:
I and my husband live in Sweden and his work takes him in various business trips during the year. This time around he had to go to amazing Madrid but exactly on our 30th wedding anniversary. Ugh. But... What to do? Work is work and we can always celebrate another day.

A lovely hotel with staff that is attentive and kind. Food and room service very good. Family room was very large with a king size bed and sofa bed. Room had table and two chairs. We traveled with scooter. Hotel staff charged and stored it each night. Great location whether you are a walker or use public transportation. Five star accomadations....

A reasonably central location with a business hotel vibe. Easy to find from the Plaza Espana metro station. Our room was large and comfortable, quiet at night. We appreciated the daily replenished coffee capsules. We did not take the breakfast offered as it was 35 each but found a Dia supermarket where we could stock up on simple breakfast foods to have in our room.
