This was a pleasant but slightly mixed stay at this resort. Having stayed at the Al-Bandar resort a couple of years prior to this visit and that stay being excellent, we had great hopes this time. But the longer we stayed, the more some issues came to mind.

A great hotel. From the moment you arrive you experience a real 5 star service with lovely touches such as the evening cocktail hour in the main courtyard, its a wonderful nightly event that brings the hotel together. The free wine / cocktails is a nice touch and the staff make sure you are really well looked after. Third stay at the Shangri La and 2nd review. We had a great stay, see my last review for details in why it's gets a five star review.
In terms of update I would say small cracks are starting to appear and it was quite such an obvious 5 star review this time.

Arrived today having spent 8 days in two other amazing 5* hotels to find this hotel sadly lacking. We have booked an amazing suite, only to find the karaoke from the neighbouring hotel unbearably loud. Definitely not what we expected when we booked & therefore not a hotel I would recommend. Wow club 18 to 30 next door

Weve just check in to the Al Husn for a relaxing week . Currently sat on the balcony listening to one up from karaoke from the the next door sister hotel.Not what we were expecting for a relaxing week.Lets hope it gets better....
