Horrible staff and service . The place looks like a indoor garage . high prices but not worth the buck !

The staff was not very welcoming and the place has a weird vibe . The front entrance is not what one would expect , it resembles your neighborhood auto repair . One word .... matter of fact two... NEVER AGAIN !

Stayed for a couples trip. We had to be moved rooms due to a number of issues on our first night, but we didn't care... The staff were more than accommodating. They honestly went above and beyond from the doorman, to the bar tender, and in particular, the management. Nothing was too much trouble and they really put their customers first. For the price, and the locality, it was good, and about what I expected. But for the staff, it gained an extra star.

My wife was put up here by her job, because of the corona virus situation. I helped her with the check-in, and was immediately struck by how dark the property was as well as her room. There was hardly any closet space and poor lighting inside her room. Since there was social distancing in place, we weren't able to comment on any amenities offered by the hotel. As I mentioned before, it was extremely poorly lit from the lobby to the floor hallways as well as the room. Another problem was the excessive heat in the room. Even though we turned off the fan and lowered the heat in the room, we couldn't turn off the heat from coming into the room. She was supposed to stay until the end of May, but she decided to check out in the beginning of May, because when she returned to the hotel after work to take a shower, while she was washing her hair, and had her eyes closed, she tasted that the water tasted funny, and when she opened her eyes she saw that the water had turned brown! She wasn't really happy with the room, and that was the last straw for her. When she checked out that night, the front desk didn't even ask her why she was checking out so early! All in all, she wouldn't of chose this hotel anyway.
Do not stay here!!

I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and I have no words for my experience. I have loved coming to this hotel for over 7 years, the library bar and the outdoor area are great for drinks and just hanging out and getting work done. Just as an FYI all of their restaurants and bars are closed for renovations. I come into my room and have never seen that much dust in my life, like I get we are in the middle of a pandemic but it isnt an excuse. The room was so small, mind you I am 5'1 and weight around 120. The bed took up the entire room and there was nowhere to move. The bathroom was so small, I had to enter sideways every time and my knees and feet have the bruises to show for it. Then the noises from the bathroom and fro the room in general, it sounded like someone was banging on the pipes with a hammer. I got 0 sleep for the duration of my stay. I did ask to switch rooms and was met with a "no". Again, I get it we are in the middle of a pandemic just getting another option would have been nice. Then the entire lobby of the 8th floor for whatever reason was wrapped in some sort of plastic. When you walked on it, it sounded like a bubble wrap being popped, VERY LOUDLY. Imagine having to work and sleep to that. I was told that I was being placed in a room that faces the front of the hotel. My room faced 9th avenue and never do this to yourself!! You can literally hear conversations being had on the streets. Construction work. There are so many homeless on 9th avenue that you can hear them at all hours. My apartment in Brooklyn is on the 2nd floor and on a very busy street and I NEVER hear this much noise. Then the heater and the air, when you turn it on it would work and when it did the noises that accompanied that and the hammering of the pipes was on another level. I am just so disappointed in the entire experience. There are so many hotels in NYC, do yourselves a favor and DO NOT stay here.

We were a little worried about staying here after reading some of the earlier reviews but we encountered no real issues whilst staying here. Yes the rooms are small but that didn't bother us as we barely spent any time in our room other than to sleep during our trip anyway. Check in was quick and easy and the hotel is in a really good location - just a 2 min walk to Central Park and the nearest Subway station and only about a 10-15 min walk to Times Square. The lobby is definitely decorated to a higher standard than the rooms and corridors themselves and we did sometimes have to wait a little bit longer than we would have liked for an elevator but on the whole I think the great location and reasonable price for a central city hotel would make me return to stay here again.
