This hotel is very tired!

This hotel needs a refresh. Our room looks similar to the photo - with years of wear. The carpets was torn and worn the vanity was very small and beat up. The queen sofa bed was horrible, as one was able to feel every spring in the thin mattress ( and I can sleep anywhere). If you need to use the sofa bed - there is NO space to walk or put a suitcase. I actually was in NYC a few weeks earlier and stayed at This hotel and would give it 5 stars.This time there were a few incidents.First when we open the sofa bed their was fifty with food and bugs.They change our room with no problem. (Actually wont hold that against them, good help is hard to find)My boots were stolen I dont know how it happened, but I came with boots, but didnt leave them

Staff was excellent, and it's good location if you want to be in TS, Theater area. We found the condition of the 2 rooms to be about what the other reviewers reported. It's old and tired and needs updating. It is not up to Marriott standards. Lifted flooring in the kitchen, peeling paint in the bathroom, cabinets falling apart. We stayed here for 4 nights in two rooms, party of 6.
Pros
Super location. Right across the street from Bryant park and walking distance to all the attractions of Times Square, fifth avenue, subways etc. very well located
Breakfast being included was great, meant we could potter down and relax and plan the day. Decent feed. Some days better than others but overall v good

We stayed at the Hotel 9 days during our visit to NYC. We usually stay in hotels belonging to another large chain, but we decided to give Marriott Bonvoy a chance this time.
