Although the hotel is lovely and our room was very clean, the staff was extremely rude. I suspect that if you do not arrive in a Jaguar, Rolls Royce, and the like you are not treated well. The staff, particularly the wait staff in the downstairs restaurant was very rude.

We checked out of the Vila Foz Hotel today. An incredible hotel, close to beach, lovely restaurant, beautiful rooms with such incredible views, so relaxing. What made the stay so pleasure was not just that, but the people. The staff in particular were so friendly and kind and the customers likewise. I already miss the hotel. Thank you so much for such warm memories of my first trip to Porto and thank you to the staff...

We went for the night to enjoy the sea near Porto. The hotel is beautiful but a bit of a UFO in an otherwise unremarkable area. Our room was very comfortable with a large bathroom. The closet could have been larger. Breakfast was delicious and very generous (think oysters and champagne). This hotel is in two parts, an older chateaux-like building and a modern rectangular building that has the accommodation and the spa. The two buildings are joined by an eccentrically designed underground passage. The spa includes an excellent steam room, sauna and beautiful (if small) pool. Overall our stay at Villa Foz was very nice and the staff was very accommodating. My husband and I are looking forward to staying again soon!
