Poor customer service and communication - front desk

During check in, the front desk staffs did not inform us that the elevator is not working, the young porter informed us that there is an elevator working on the other side of the building however he did not inform us that it will not lead us to our room and did not even offer help to bring our luggages to the second floor through the stairs. We had a good experience here with one major exception. The elevator was broken and they do not have porters, meaning that we had to carry all our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. What made it worse was the fact that the check-in person did not warn us of this fact, so we spent time taking the elevator (which was working) up and down trying to figure out how to get to our side of the hotel, only to find out that the e...

Arrived early, so understandably, the room was not ready. We were invited to take a seat at breakfast. I took a cup of boiling water . I was invited by the waitress to give her my room number and having explained that I had not yet been allocated a room. she accused me,of trying to eat a breakfast without paying . Solid choice in Reykjavik

We stayed there before and after hiking the Laugavegur trail, and it was great. It's quiet and centrally located, the beds are comfortable, and the on-site restaurant (Brass) serves fantastic burgers. They kept our luggage for us while we hiked, which was very convenient. Family of 4 stayed in Family Room 222. Very quiet room location and comfortable and very clean room. Was able to keep the window open all night without any noise. Check in was fast and friendly. Room was ready early which was nice after a lot of traveling. Location is excellent with easy walking to shops, restaurants, bars, etc. 7 min walk from bus stop 13.
