Went to Riga for 70th birthday, what a lovely experience, hotel clean and staff very friendly. Had breakfast in two more beers which was attached to the hotel, very good. Also nobody knew it was 70th birthday but prosecco and birthday wishes left in the room. Excellent...

What I loved most was how spread out the entire property feels. Because the hotel is composed of multiple buildings arranged around courtyards and passages, you never feel boxed in or anonymous. Theres a sense of movement and discovery walking between spaces feels intentional, almost like navigating a small village rather than a single structure. Booked a 3 night stay with breakfast, in a Comfort Double Room and requested "Room with a view if possible". On check in got allocated a room on the 4th floor with 2 skylights so only a view of the sky really which was a bit disappointing! 4th floor only has stair access - the lift only goes to the 3rd floor so anyone with mobility issues may struggle but were told this on check-in.
